Estwingâs 28 oz. milled faced framing hammer is forged in one piece solid steel and fully polished. The balance and temper are unsurpassed. It has a molded on Shock Reduction Grip which reduces shock up to 70% and will not come off. Estwing hammers are the only hammers that can make this claim. Longer handle and heavier head for driving large common nails. Milled face designed to reduce glancing blows and flying nails when used in framing unexposed wood. Made in the USA. Protect your eyes from flying particles and dust. Always wear safety goggles. Bystanders shall also wear safety goggles.

Hands down the finest hammer I have ever used. You can use it for framing all day long and the anti-vibration grip works exactly as advertised. The milled face does an excellent job of eliminating mishits, but use the smooth faced version for things like siding where you don't want to scuff the wood.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Eastwing hasn't changed this hammer in several years, certainly not since I bought mine. I have done framing with it and used it all day long. The vibration control works as billed, you will get tired of swinging the 28 ounces of metal before you get tired of the vibration. the handle is longer than a regular hammer and makes it easier to reach around into odd positions to nail (like when you are driving 16 penny nails into either side of a truss for example). This hammer has sat in the rain, been used all day long including pounding on things it wasn't never meant to pound. If there's a way to destroy it, I'm not sure what that would be. This is likely to be the last hammer you will every buy.
Yes, I recommend this product.

This is a hammer for power. The 28 oz will test your strength at the end of the day, but if you know how to swing it, this thing'll take care of you.
It's great for normal nailing, demo work, heavy alterations (this wall has to move an inch? okay...) and everything else under the sun. I also have the 22oz version, but I prefer this one, and just don't feel right without it. The leverage is great for long, powerful strokes. The claws are great for picking things up and prying. The guarantee covers the rest of your life. What else could you ask for?
Yes, I recommend this product.

As another reviewer said "the last hammer you will buy". It has a 28oz and a pair of 22oz hammers, one of which I found in a snowbank when plowing a friends driveway. I took it home, cleaned up the surface rust and it has served me for years.
Durable and well balanced, the design of a metal hammer with a rubber grip seems simple, but works great. The "flatter" style claws are by far the most useful.
Yes, I recommend this product.

the first hammer if ever bought. im only 13 . in the past i have all ways used my dads hammers. one day i noticed i had picking up the same hammer for a while. i looked at it and it was an estwing. so i asked my dad and he sayed for a kid my size to get a 22 oz. and for all the framing i do i should get a checkerd (milled) face so i can still drive the nail if im at an angle. now to the actule hammer its not to heavy and i can swing it all day and not get tired. i have had it for a while and it has held up its bin droped from 3 stories up on concret. its bin run over by the excavator and its still strait. so i think il keep bying this brand untill i dye
Pros: Durable, Sturdy, Accurate, Strong, Good Size & Weight, can with stand a 3 1/2 ton exavtor runing over it

Review 7 for 28 oz. Milled-Face Framing Hammer with Shock Reduction Grip
I've owned my Estwing hammer for over 15 years and finally had to replace it due to the milled head being worn down to a smooth surface from daily use at my job. Estwing hammers are notorious for their quality, durability, reliability, and value. Not only are they constructed to withstand punishment and years of worry-free use, they're made in the U.S.A. Estwing is the ONLY hammer I'll ever own and I recommend this brand without hesitation and complete confidence if you're considering purchasing a hammer. Bottom line: this is the best hammer ever made and worth every single penny. Bar none!
Yes, I recommend this product.

For framing purposes, this is the best hammer to have in your arsenal. I framed houses for a summer and this was the "weapon" of choice for our crew. The all-metal design is very strong and the thin (but durable) neck combined with the industrial grade handle material really works to deflect shock. The 22 oz. size allows you to get some good velocity for really pounding whatever is needed. It might tire you out initially, but you'll appreciate the heavier hammer over the lighter one within a week. Again, this is a great framing hammer. It's large, so if you need an all-purpose hammer, you might want to look at the smaller size version to give you more flexibility in tight locations. Definitely go smaller for car work for example. But these types of Estwing hammers are great. I've been using mine since 1996 with no problems. One of my best tools.
Yes, I recommend this product.
