This little thing helps a lot with my allergies. (Spring was awful in 2010, but this air purifier made it liveable.)
I also used the air purifier in our summer home. It got rid of the musty smell that always seems to greet us when opening or visiting the house every summer. It also cut down on the dust. Keeping the place clean is much easier.
I recommend the HEPA filter over the ionic filter anytime. Ionic filters, in my experience, create a lot of dust on countertops, etc. So, out of the air, into the carpeting IMHO.

I got it for my allergies and it definitely made a difference. I use it for a small room (approx 20'x15') and turn it on a few hours a day.
Programmable timer and remote control come in very handy.
It's loud but I have it on with the door closed and room empty. On the quietest setting, the noise level is fine but too loud when sleeping.

I bought this since my son was having to use a breathing treatment and medications. I am battling allergies as well. I did not find any improvement by using this product. We ran it constantly as they tell you to. May return if possible.

I have really bad allergies. I bought 2 of these to try and control dust and pet dander in the air. One for the living room and one for my bedroom. They have really helped. You can clean the pre-filter with the vacuum cleaner. SO EASY. I would recommed this to anyone with allergies.

My son has recently been diagnosed with Reactive Airway Disease and we were blessed when surprised with a brand new True HEPA Air Purifier with Remote Control. It has cleaned the air in his room and he is sleeping so much better at night. I am looking forward to seeing him have less reactions to the allergens in the air that cause him so many problems. We keep it on the low setting at night and the soft noise is not a bother at all. It atually helps us sleep.

I have a horrible dust allergy and decided to buy a purifier to help clean the air in my home. I bought the larger model, the Honeywell Model 50250, and it worked just fine but it was too loud for me, so I bought this smaller model and it works just fine for my space. I use it mainly for my bedroom so it may not be ideal for a large home but cleans the air very well. The only complaint that I have is that the dirty filter indicator says that I need to change the "pre filter" b/c it's dirty but I just replaced it. That isn't a huge problem seeing as you can just open the compartment and see how dirty it is but it would be nice if that feature worked - since I don't really know how dirty it can be before it stops working properly. Overall great buy, I would recommend.

I like the air cleaner because it is programable. You can set if for when you want it to run. The only problem is when I use my DVD player with the remote it changes the time and the programing and I have to redo it all. Other than that I like the product.

I purchased this device today after spending quite a bit of time
considering the various options available at the local Home Depot.
Important to my final choice was this information printed on the box:
"Never replace your HEPA filter again! This Honeywell Air Purifier
includes a unique HEPA filter that can be vacuum-cleaned and replaced
back into the unit."
Imagine my surprise when I read the actual manual: "CAUTION: Do not
attempt to wash either the activated carbon pre-filter or the HEPA
filter.... The primary HEPA filter should remain effective for 1 to 3
years.... The activated carbon pre-filter... should be checked monthly
and replaced at least every 3 months."
I have checked that the manual, box, and machine all indicate the same
product. Perhaps it is a good product -- I haven't had it very long,
and can't say -- but it is important to note that it is not as
advertised.

The unit does what I needed it to do; remove harmful molds and freshen the air in my office. The remote control allows full control from my desk. The sound level is acceptable in a small office.

If you sneeze when you enter a dirty room or cough when there is dust in the air this unit is for you. I put one in each room in our home and I can really see a difference. I did not like the 'white noise' at first but now I cannot sleep when it is not on? The filter is easy to change but a little expensive. It only needs to be changed about every year.
