"I just love this grill. It took probably about an hour to put all together, and when I was all finished and installing the grill Iid I noticed the lid had a black spot repair on it. Looked like it was repaired at the factory and touched up with black paint{I got the blue model}. So I called weber and they took my word for it no questions asked and sent me a new one in the mail, and told me just to throw away the other one-so far awesome customer service{called on a sunday night at 7:30 and they were open for calls}. using it was great my uncle and brother both have one so I new they were great grills. Love how it functions with starting and the table and the charcoal bucket. I only gave it a 4 star because of the black spot that I think probably should have not got pass quality control, but they took care of it no questions asked so maybe I should have gave it all 5 stars. Great grill to use!!"

"I have been an owner of numerous gas grills over the years and not one of them matches my new Weber Performer. I have always wanted one of the more expensive custom smoker pits, but decided that the cost was not justifiable for our small family. I wanted a charcoal grill because I wanted better grill flavor that a gas grill cannot provide. My research was extensive and pound-for-pound - dollar-for-dollar, the Performer stood out. Made in USA, great quality construction, easy assembly makes the Weber Performer a great choice. A great feature is the "gas" ignition system that eliminates the need for starter fluid. Just fill up the charcoal rack and ignite the gas and the coals will be ready in about 10 minutes. The movable coal baskets allow for direct and indirect cooking methods. I like leaving the baskets in the middle of the grill and placing the meat along the outer parameter of the pit for indirect cooking. The firs cooking experience was fantastic. I cooked apple-wood bacon wrapped chicken thighs and they were fantastic. My wife said that my smile was as big as the day we bought our first Harley-Davidson (midlife crisis).
Bottom line.....This is an awesome grill at a great price. Make the switch from gas grills to this Weber Performer and you will be glad that you did.

"I'm a single guy and find it hard to cook at home rather than doing take-out. That is untill I bought this grill! I now actually look forward to going home for dinner.
I have had this grill for about two months and use it at least three times a week. I have had charcoal and gas grills in the past and this one is the way to go. It cooks fast and the heat is predictable and controllable.
I use this grill for anything from steaks & burgers to fish and veggies. It does it all well. And with the gas assisted start, it does it fast too. Add some wood chips to the charcoal and this grill also makes a great smoker!

"This is the best grill EVER!!! We have been looking for a gas-fired charcoal grill for years - ever since seeing a family member's portable coleman kettle. The ease of lighting combined with the true barbeque flavor of charcoal is unbeatable. My husband hates propane grills and will not even use one - so this is absolutely perfect for our family. Easy to start, easy to clean, convenient workstation, dry charcoal storage... great features all combine to make this an absolute hands-down favorite!"

"We bought a Weber Performer in 1999, and have now used it for 10 years with amazing success. We grill all winter as well as when the weaher is nice, and often entertain for large groups as well. It's easy to roll around, or lift into the back of a truck for tailgate parties. This charcoal grill can easily get up to 600 degrees, which is great in cold, windy weather--gas BBQ's simply cannot put out enough heat. We also like the ability to put wet herbs over the coals. Because of the heat, the inside grate and grill need to be replaced periodically, of course, and over time we have replaced various small parts as they became melted or bent, but the parts are easy to order and in spite of constant use the grill still works like new!!
I also highly recommend getting the rotisserie attachment. We are buying a new Performer for my son's first house."

"I am mechanically challenged, but this grill was easy to put together. It is large, and very portable. Cooks and smokes great, and is easy to control the heat. Nice size table top. The charcoal storage is very useful, as when it rains the bag won't get wet. Was surprised that there was a 4 star rating, even though the reviewer loved it and would by again. Overall, very pleased with it."

"I have owned my Weber Performer for 2 yrs now and it's amazing. Plenty of work space, extremely easy to clean and if you use the charcoal pans, it is easy to sear the meat and set it aside to slow cook. I just slow cooked a leg of lamb for Easter and it was easy and tasty. You might spend a little bit more if you buy Weber but it is worth it. All I have ever owned is weber. My last Weber grille I had for 15 yrs and it was still in good condition when I replaced it with this one. I have tried to grille at other peoples house's on other brands and it's just not the same. If you like to bbq the charcoal way, this is the grille for you!"

"The Perfomer Grill arrived well packed and was straightforward to assemble. The components are all very well made, which they should be, because this grill is fairly expensive. After our three initial uses, we are very pleased with the ease of starting the charcoal. No more of that napalm smell from match-light charcoal! The heat is easy to control and the ash catcher is great. If you insist on charcoal for your grilling, as we do, this is the grill for you."

"I got this grill as a gift at the beginning of last summer. After having a propane grill for several years I couldn't wait to get back to "real grilling" again with a Weber! Unless you're doing large scale cookouts or competitive grilling...this is the charcoal grill for you. The even cooking and ample space are great but there are so many cool little features on this grill that take the hassle out of charcoal cooking too. The built in thermometer is nice and the ability to remove it for internal termperature taking is great for slow cooked meats. The charcoal baskets are also very convenient, allowing you the flexibility of gas grills to adjust heat on different parts of the grill. Plus, you can't beat the quality of a Weber. It was easy to assemble and feels sturdy."

"Best grill I have owned so far. Typical Weber quality-well built, holds tempature evenly, great features. The side table is large and very useful. The gas assist start gets charcoal going quickly. If you have a gas grill for speed but would really rather use charcoal, this is the grill for you."

Not that I wasn't looking,I just could not find the grill I wanted.
When I first saw this grill,I knew I had to have it.
I use it several times a month,it's

"I purchased this grill after my gas grill burned up. There are many extras on this Weber grill that makes it fun and easy to use. The gas used for the flame that lights the charcoal is a small disposable propane canister like you use for camping. The installation of the canister was quick and easy, unlike the large one I had to use for my gas grill. I also like the built in container to store and protect your charcoal. The last hidden surprise was the meat thermometer that you can remove out of the top of the grill to check your temperature. This is a great Weber grill!"
