It has a compression load range of 18,000 lbs. at its lowest setting and 9,100 lbs. at its highest setting. It is ideal for correcting sagging floors and basement beams and providing secondary support for room additions, remodeling projects, porches and decks.

Two parts complicated the usage. Washers were welded to the concave socket in the top plates for better load distribution. The bearing washer supporting the adjusting screw sometimes rotated requiring a hand to arrest the movement. Drilling a set screw solved that problem.
Overall, they worked very well lifting the end of a two story house to replace some beams.

opened the box took out top and bottem plates, two bolts and nuts, and an adjustment ( threaded item with a foot at the top and a square adjustment at the other end) . how do i attach the adjustment item to the pole. i have nothing to do so .

Good value, my suggestion would be for heavier plates for top and bottom. The include sheet metal plates distort quickly.

The product did the job very well, the only down side is that it make take couple extra phone calls and shipments to get all parts for the jack posts.

I ordered two of these to support one end of a 52 ft deck that was in trouble. One of the units must have been a "return" as it had been opened and was missing one bolt. The jack-screws on both units were "burred" and could not be fully adjusted until I used a file to clean the threads. The two sections of pipe could be a much closer fit (about 5/32 play when installed).
In the end, they did the job (with a little extra work) and I did not have to return them.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I ordered 2 of these and was very pleased with the service from Home Depot. They were shipped out promptly and I received them in a few days. The product seems to be very simple in design but robust enough for the job. I have a sagging floor joist on my ground floor so I installed one on that joist and am keeping the other in case I have to bring up other joists. It was very simple to install and hopefully will take care of the problem. I don't see why it shouldn't. If this is a product you are in the market for don't hesitate in ordering from Home Depot.

The strong base and upper plates set themselves easily. I used this jack to raise a sagging roof over a horse stall. Because the jack is adjustable, I managed to get the job done by myself.

Post arrived with box opened and the hardware bag had been torn open and a piece was missing . I called the customer service and the response was IMMEDIATE and very pleasant. These Jack Posts are definitely worth the money. They are built well, easy to use and will hold up to 19K lbs each. For lifting a sagging floor or temporarily supporting anything overhead they fit the bill completely. I used them to level out a deck and they worked perfectly. The telescoping jack screws allow you to make very minor or major adjustsments based on your need. The only negative I found with these Jacks is that the screw mechanism tends to fall out of the post ie they sit there held with gravity so if you tilt the post too much they could tumble out. Not to worry though, they are tough and dropping them won't hurt them. To solve this very minor annoyance I just took a bit of duct-tape and wrapped/bound the perimeter of the screw base to the post . Now they sit there in place and don't move at all. Again, for the money these will give you a lifetime of use.

I needed something to raise a sagging second story floor on my homes two-story porch. The jack post was exactly what we needed. It was fairly easy to set up and install. I am very pleased with this product. I looked everywhere around town and couldn't find one.

This item was very reasonably priced, was delivered in a very timely matter, and worked exactly (even easier) then advertised. I would heartily recommend it and Home Depot's prompt shipment.

Used the jacks to prop up sagging floors in a hundred yr old house with stone foundation. Easy to put together and put up. so far they are working great and slowly lifting the sags. Next project using the 2 ft one to prop floors above the crawl space.
