Pilot Brushed Nickel Finish Ceiling Fan,
September 26, 2009
"Purchaed 2 of these for my Mom Cave and they are stunning. Love the industrial feel and the alternating directions of the fan blades.
Definitely recommend this fan if you're looking for quality plus funky style."

Unique, stylish and effective,
September 17, 2009
"We've had this fan for a year now and it's incredible. Moves air very effectively, extremely unique looking (everyone comments on it and loves it) and it's very quiet. We would recommend this fan to anyone that love a contemporary style with flair."

great fan, wiring question,
May 11, 2009
"this fan looks better in real life than in the picture. It's elegant, contemporary and very unique. It's very quiet, doesn't wobble, however I don't care too much for the light, it's a cold white and not pleasant to the eye.
A friend installed this fan for me. I previously had a fan (no remote) with two dimmer switches on the wall one to turn on/off/dim the light and the other to control the speed of the fan, this was great. When this guy installed it he only provided one switch: On/Off. The rest he said had to be controlled via the remote (fan speed, fan on/off, light dimming, light on/off etc.) that is fine except having only one switch will either turn on/off the fan only or light only or both together but not separately (whichever setting was used last) then you have to find your remote to control the other, it's not practical. Is it possible with this wiring configuration to have the remote and 2 dimmer switches on the outlet which control the fan speed and light dimming separately ? Thanks for any help."

52/60 4-BLADE FAN IN BRUSHED NICKEL,
February 5, 2008
"This fan is gorgeous and very easy to put together. The only problem was with the wiring. My outlet had a red main wire and there was no red wire with this fan. Also, red wire at the switched. No instructions in the manual regarding red wiring. After many discussions with an electrician, I was able to combine the wiring with the black wiring provided with the fan. The fan then worked. I noticed on the internet, this is a common problem with the Hampton Fans. Anyway, love the fan with the etched Opal Glass"

Great Fan,
July 13, 2007
"I bought this fan for its looks. It definitely stood out from the others at Home Depot.
Installation was fairly simple and straight forward. I would however recommend doing two things out of order from the instruction book. First, you can actually wire the fan to the receiver before you hang the fan. Just hang it on the mount and get your measurements to cut the wires (they provide a lot of extra wire). Bring it back down and wire it without having to do this while standing on a ladder and reaching. (You will still have to wire it to the house wires but depending on the model you bought is just three connections instead of doing the normal seven while on the ladder). Second, install the top blades before you hang the fan. This will help eliminate the chance of dropping screws and having to contort your body to install the blades. By doing these steps it makes installing the fan much easier especially if you are doing it yourself.
Once installed though this fan operates flawlessly. It does move a good amount of air and is silent. The only noise I have heard is just the fans pushing the air. I have had this fan now for three days and have run it on all the settings and haven’t had any hint of noise or wobble or anything else described by the negative reviews out there.
I highly recommend this fan if you want something that doesn’t look like your typical fan. This fan has drawn a lot of compliments and I am extremely glad I made the choice to spend a little more for this fan."

Worst Fan I own,
June 23, 2007
"This is probably the worst fan that I have in my house. Including this one I have eight fans in the house. This fan is the one that creates the most noise. When on the high setting it sounds as if the motor is grinding into something. I have tried balancing kits and it has not helped. This fan has made me never want to buy another Hampton Bay fan again."

Not for do-it-yourself crowd,
May 5, 2007
"If you are like me, you probably installed IKEA furniture, and maybe upgraded your desktop computer.
But it would be impossible for me to install this fan. I called a professional electrician and he struggled with it for over two hours. When I watched him work, and so many things that did go wrong, I would recommend anyone to buy this model ONLY after they secured an electrician. Prepare to spend $50 to $100 per fan installed. One contractor wanted $150.
Not sure how it will work long term. I agree with other reviewers that the fan looks esthetically an "avant-garde" piece of art.
For those who promised themselves never to install an ugly fan -, because all fans are ugly :-) this model is a proof that a ceiling fan can be beautiful besides being useful."

Fan looks better than it is...,
May 2, 2007
"My husband and I were really excited to get this fan. We read all the reviews and thought that it was a good fan to purchase. It was a little on the expensive side but we purchased it b/c it looked so unique. Well, we are disappointed with the fan. First of all, we checked 2 different Home Depots and both of them didn't even know about the fan, so we went to a place called Expo Design Center. I believe it's sister company of Home Depot. Second of all, the fan isn't as quiet as the other reviews state. The fan hums on all 3 settings. We had the fan installed in our living room and the floor of the room above the fan vibrates! Third, the light is a halogen light and doesn't light up the room as much as we wanted. We still need to use another lamp to light up the entire room and our living room in our townhouse isn't that large. We have an $80 Hampton Bay fan in our bedroom that is very quiet and the lights are better. Overall, we are disappointed with the fan but it will be more of a hassle to take it down and exchange it, so we're dealing with it. Positive...it is a very attractive fan. We love the way it looks. Too bad it looks better than it functions."

Installation was a PAIN!,
April 21, 2007
"I recently installed this fan in my bedroom and loved the look, amount of air it emitted, and the comments it drew. I, too, agree however that it was extremely difficult to install-don't know if it is because I am a gal and not a guy but I do consider myself quite handy. It would have been well worth the extra charge for the installation. And don't drop any of the numerous screws into the fan because you will never get it out and it WILL make a noise forever when it is run. But other than that, this fan is worth the money. I loved this fan so much that I ordered another for my new home in Chicago (since I moved) and am putting it in my living room. I am sure it will draw even more comments as it will be out in the open. But I will be utilizing the installation department. If you don't want to spend more than an hour on this installation, I recommend paying to get it installed. Hope this saves some time and frusteration."

Looks Absolutely Amazing,
March 19, 2007
"This could quite possibly be the absolute best ceiling fan that Home Depot has to offer. It looks very different than anything that anyone has ever seen. When your friends and family see this thing spinning on your ceiling they can't help but comment positively. Thank you Home Depot for making me look even more like the baller that I am."
