We have the Rhodes single pendant light over our kitchen sink and the bowl pendant light over our breakfast nook. This fan was the one we wanted for our den.
We installed the fan using the shorter rod and we love it! I would have only used the longer rod if our ceiling was much taller (I think we have 9 ft. ceilings). The remote works perfectly, even when it's not directly pointed at the fan. The three fan settings are an ideal balance (we usually have ours on Medium) and there is both a downlight in a globe and an uplight in the glass ring around the top.
If this fan is the primary light source in a room, you might want to consider floor lamps or recessed lighting or something. The lighting is great at night, but nothing more than ambient during the daytime.
I definitely recommend this light if you don't need a ton of light from your ceiling fan.

Wonderful ceiling fan if you want diffused light

We put one of these fans in each room of our house. Reason? We like diffused overhead lighting (nothing worse than looking up and seeing a bare bulb), we like the common remote for each room (we attach them to the door frame), the glass is stunning, both on and off, and we are wanting to lower our energy bills (ceiling fans help with this). Installation is easy, although with the remote feature it gets a little tight in the ceiling junction box. The dimming feature is really nice as well, particularly for night light capability. The only complaint is if you need bright light, which we provide with isolated task lighting. NO REGRETS SO FAR!

I bought the pendant lights, the matching ceiling fan and the chandelier for my kitchen and family room. They are beautiful, giving a warm glow to the area. The ceiling fan is simply beautiful to look at - I have received numerous compliments on them from my friends and family. I am going to order the recessed lights next to complete the look!

Perfect Finishing Touch

This fan and the matching pendant lights have provided the perfect finishing touch to my kitchen remodel. Every visitor comments on how great they blend with the cabinets and what a warm glow they give off. (The web site doesn't do it justice; I'm glad I visited a Home Depot that had one on display.) The fan arrived quickly and was securely packed to insure no broken parts.

I replaced all of the lighting in my home wiht this collection, including two fans, large ceiling pendants, smaller hanging pendants, and recessed. It was economical and turned out beautifully. Buyers beware that most of these items (not the fan because it is special order) but the pendants, chandeliers and recessed covers can be bought at your local store for sometimes less than half the price of the prices on line. My only complaint would be that the amber glass does soften the lighting to the point that I ended up having to install more recessed lighting than initially planned. But overall, I believe I made the best choice. It is very difficult to find a complete lighting line, including fans, in this price range that is aestheticaly pleasing. Believe me, I checked out everything available in DFW, and this was by far the best choice. Great transitional lighting to update older homes.

The fan is pretty and fits in well with the entire collection. We have an open great room type of floor plan and needed a foyer light, a breakfast nook light, a dining room chandelier and a ceiling fan for teh living room and this collection fits our traditional yet modern house. Do not purchase this fan if you want it to be the main source of light in your room as it only throws a glowing accent type of light. Other than that it is a beautiful piece. It was packaged very well. I purchased it when ceiling fans were on sale.

This ceiling fan and light kit are simply the best I have ever bought as far as adding aesthetic and ambience to the rooom its installed in. The hand blown glass is beautiful and of course each hand blown piece is unique (no two are alike) This is the second home I have now bought this Ceiling fan for and with the uplighting and remote control it's a breeze to use (get the pun) =) and a wonderful addition to anyone's home!

we put this fan in our family room, and put two of the matching pendant lights in our kitchen. the fan is absolutely great looking, though it does not really provide enough light to be the only light source in the room.
overall -- gorgeous fan, provides a very nice (though somewhat dim) light
installation -- could definitely be better. the receiver for the remote has to be wired in and you must make it (plus all the wires) fit into the outlet box in the ceiling. it's definitely not the easiest process, but if you're careful to trim the wires to just the length that you need to connect them, it can be done without TOO much frustration.
ongoing issue -- when the is running, the lights tend to turn themselves on and off on occasion..?
all in all, though, it's a great looking fan and we're very happy to have it in our home!

This fan is really nice looking and I also like that there are coordinating pieces that you can get to go along with it. I also purchased the 3 bulb pendant light for the dining room and the 1 bulb pendant for the kitchen. I ordered the fan online and it showed up in about a week with no problems. Installation was easy; I had no problems installing it myself in about an hour. I was unable to find a longer down rod that matched the finish. But I found one that was close and you really cant tell the difference.
The only negative of this fan is the dark glass and small candelabra bulbs. While this produces a nice warm glow, that is all it is, a glow. Even if you use the uplight, the amount of light put out is still pretty limited. If the fan is the only source of light in your room you will probably need to supplement it with other sources of light. Also the reverse switch for the motor is on top of the fan. I dont use this feature, but if you do it might be a pain to drag out the ladder to get at the switch.

I purchased a home in April and replaced the dining room chandelier with the coordinating nutmeg glass light that I happened to see while walking through Home Depot. In August, my existing ceiling fan died and I looked at Home Depot online and found the coordinating fan. It was delivered within a week - in perfect condition - and was a breeze to put together and hang. My ceiling is about 20 ft hight and the fan came with a 6" downrod. I ran over to my local Home Depot and they had a 36" downrod in the same finish. The fan is beautiful, it operates easily - the lighting (both up and down) is perfect. The remote is handy and I just can't say enough about how beautiful it looks. I'm thrilled!

I Order this fan on line and received it a few days later. It was simple to put together, easy to put up and it works great. I only wish it gave off more light (has small lights in this kit) but is wonderful when we have guests over and it makes for a more relaxed room.

I love this fan. I was not aware that it had a remote and dimming. Is beautiful especially with matching chandelier and drop light. Took a long time to intall but worth every minute. Needs two people. One to hold up for a quick minute.

This ceiling fan is beautiful and would give a living room or master bedroom the elegance and yet subtle appearance. I would recommend this light to anyone. It is easy on light bulbs.
