The product is a life saver when it comes to heating your
home on those cold winter nights.Puts out a lot of heat
you don't have that nasty smell when lit properly,just
follow instructions and you are ready to snuggle up and
be warm. There are several family members who also
own this wonderful heater.They wouldn't even sell me
one, so I bought my own. Light up save money and enjoy.

Only complaint - using a siphone to fill the tank. Other than that the product really does what it is meant to do. I like it!

Very impressed with the unit. Purchased it to supplement the central air heat in the house on cold days, but realized it was able to heat the entire 2.5 story (non-vaulted ceilings) 2,200sqft house to 71 degrees when outside temps were around 9 degrees. Leaves no smell during normal operation and only a very slight smell on startup, but shutdown generates a noticeable kerosene smell that usually dissipates in 5 minutes. It's better to shut it down in a well ventilated area if the smell is a problem. Operation time on a full tank(1.9 gals) is 10 hours following the recommended flame height setting in the product manual.

We wanted this heater to save on our Electric Heating bill. But will only use it for emergency because of the fumes, and the expense of the kerosene. Also it will take alot of maintanence.

Dependable old technology that's hard to beat

This is a well made heater that uses a proven design to produce a lot of heat from a small unit. The battery operated ignition is hit or miss, but they all are (I have 3 from over the years). The best way to light the unit is with a BBQ grill lighter. This particlar heater is slightly overpriced compared to others, but a good selection for what it is.

Had a hard time finding this in CA, so I ordered online. Easy to put together out of the package. I use it to heat up my 2 car garage that I use for a shop. Puts out a ton of heat while working on projects. If you are thinking of buying, you will not be disappointed!

I bought this product to heat my garage. Setup is simple and the device is easy to use and works well.
The Home Depot web experience was lacking. My order showed as in-process for a week, I never received any tracking information. I called their service number, they were professional and told me I would be called within 24 hours. The next day my product arrived via UPS (never did get tracking info). Late that night I got an automated email saying my product had shipped!

Heater works really good.
Issues with the "handle" in that when heater was lifted to move it, the handle came out of the holes and it fell (not a good thing).
HD replaced the unit with one from the store (and waiting to hear results from using it).

I have two of these heaters in a large open home, 3500 sq ft. I put one in the basement and one in the mid-level hallway and it heats the entire house to where my heating system shuts off. They run most efficiently when they are full, so when they get to 1/2 a tank, I refill them and that helps save on Kerosene. They do stink a little when you turn them off, never run them when you aren't home or sleeping. Other than that, if your looking for a back up heat source in case power goes out, or just to save a couple dollars, this is your heater. Built well, easy to light and even easy to repair. By repair I mean install a replacement wick which I did after 4 years of solid winter months use. Not sure why everyone else's comments are negative, this is a great bang for your buck. My parents had one when I was growing up and I now have two....so I am speaking from 20+ years of using these heaters.

Read the directions. Follow them. Buy the cleanest fuel you can find. Avoid the dyed stuff. 3+ year owner of this heater, using it more each year. One Wick replacement in that time.

So poor I'm taking it back when I have the time. I don't think it's the setup as that is very straightforward. Bought this to use in a large well ventilated garage but even so, it's too inefficient to use due to incomplete combustion.

The only complaint I have is that it uses alot of kerosene.To run it for 12 hours it burned $ 40.00 worth of kerosene I believe to be 4 gallons ? The flame was adjusted as described in the manual.I am hoping it was just the first burn that used that much fuel, if not a natural gas heater may a better choice.for economy.

Got it to heat my garage over the winter. Has not gotten that cold yet, but it did heat up the garage much quicker than the electric oil heater I was using. We will see how well it works put later in the season.
