Very easy to use. Goes through fuel a little quick. But, I love it! It doesn't smell bad like propane.

I purchased this heater after being without power for a couple of days two different times in the last year. I used this heater a couple of times to try it out and it really heats up my whole house. It puts out so much heat after a couple of hours I've had to turn it off and saved my propane heating costs for the rest of the day.

I put it together myself and it worked the 1st time. A little bit of smell when you turn it off. Not sure when I have to change the wick and am a little worried about that. The heater has an 800 toll free number for help. This heater has cut my PG&E in 1/2. It cost me about $50.00 for 2 large containers of Kerosene and I get about 16 uses at 4 hours. You can run it for about 6-8 hours on one fill up.

I purchased the model 2304 on Feb 6, 2012 and in one portion of the wick the flame fluttered noisily and would not stop after hours. When I called the company customer support line they said moisture had to be in the kerosene for the flame to flutter. I went and had the kerosene tested and there was NO moisture in the kerosene.
I returned the heater and purchased another model 2304. I also purchased the $10.00 per liter kerosene sold at Home Depot and guess what.....I had the SAME exact problem with the flame. I took the heater to a repair shop and they stated the burner in this particular model is defective. I Hate This Heater.

product okay,just wanted to stress 1 huge important fact..In the manual you'll notice the statement that says"Only use 1-K kerosene in this heater.So true,don't even attempt to buy the cheaper kerosene from any local dealer,you will only get 2 uses before the cheap kerosene ruins your wick.Would have never bought product knowing that I would have to purchase $11.00 a gallon 1-K water clear kerosene.Might as well use our central electric heat.

Very impressed with the unit. Purchased it to supplement the central air heat in the house on cold days, but realized it was able to heat the entire 2.5 story (non-vaulted ceilings) 2,200sqft house to 71 degrees when outside temps were around 9 degrees. Leaves no smell during normal operation and only a very slight smell on startup, but shutdown generates a noticeable kerosene smell that usually dissipates in 5 minutes. It's better to shut it down in a well ventilated area if the smell is a problem. Operation time on a full tank(1.9 gals) is 10 hours following the recommended flame height setting in the product manual.

We wanted this heater to save on our Electric Heating bill. But will only use it for emergency because of the fumes, and the expense of the kerosene. Also it will take alot of maintanence.

This is a well made heater that uses a proven design to produce a lot of heat from a small unit. The battery operated ignition is hit or miss, but they all are (I have 3 from over the years). The best way to light the unit is with a BBQ grill lighter. This particlar heater is slightly overpriced compared to others, but a good selection for what it is.

Had a hard time finding this in CA, so I ordered online. Easy to put together out of the package. I use it to heat up my 2 car garage that I use for a shop. Puts out a ton of heat while working on projects. If you are thinking of buying, you will not be disappointed!

I bought this product to heat my garage. Setup is simple and the device is easy to use and works well.
The Home Depot web experience was lacking. My order showed as in-process for a week, I never received any tracking information. I called their service number, they were professional and told me I would be called within 24 hours. The next day my product arrived via UPS (never did get tracking info). Late that night I got an automated email saying my product had shipped!

Heater works really good.
Issues with the "handle" in that when heater was lifted to move it, the handle came out of the holes and it fell (not a good thing).
HD replaced the unit with one from the store (and waiting to hear results from using it).

I have two of these heaters in a large open home, 3500 sq ft. I put one in the basement and one in the mid-level hallway and it heats the entire house to where my heating system shuts off. They run most efficiently when they are full, so when they get to 1/2 a tank, I refill them and that helps save on Kerosene. They do stink a little when you turn them off, never run them when you aren't home or sleeping. Other than that, if your looking for a back up heat source in case power goes out, or just to save a couple dollars, this is your heater. Built well, easy to light and even easy to repair. By repair I mean install a replacement wick which I did after 4 years of solid winter months use. Not sure why everyone else's comments are negative, this is a great bang for your buck. My parents had one when I was growing up and I now have two....so I am speaking from 20+ years of using these heaters.
