fan works great, only problem and it's a minor one, but worth mentioning the fan needs a reversible motor because the power cord may not be on the side you need, causing the direction of air flow to be in the wrong direction,

For best results, I cut two holes. The fan was installed in a hole high in the wall behind a woodburning stove. I had to cut another hole low away from the fan to allow the cold air to circulate back to the stove area. This increased the productivity of the fan. Overall the fan is perfect for transferring air from my workshop through a wall into an unheated add-on.

got it, cut a whole in the wall as instructed, mounted it in the wall as instructed, turned it on and it was loud, within 2 weeks it rattled. next step, pull it out and mend wall, really upsetting purchase.

Great fan for transferring air from one room to the next. Although it's designed to be a thru-wall fan, it's assembly allows you to take it apart for different scenarios where the wall or installation requires it to be thicker/longer than a standard 4-6" thick wall. I was faced with a situation of having to bring in heat from the wood stove in the living room into my son's room - which meant I had to go thru a closet. By taking the fan apart into the two separate pieces (you do this anyways during standard installation) I was able to order 8" diameter aluminum flex-duct, use a 8" insulation duct sleeve around that duct to better keep the heat, and effectively create a path of 5ft. from one closet wall to the next.
Note that the on/off switch of the fan as well as the power cord is on the blower/exhaust side end, not the suction/induction side, but the actual fan motor is on the induction side -- therefore, I had to do an additional (but really simple... I am not an electrician at all!) modification to extend the cables from the motor to the switch control using 18gauge wire.
So by spending $60 on the fan and another $25 on flex duct, insulation sleeve, and wire; I am saving HUNDREDS of dollars in oil-heat savings. The oil boiler doesn't kick in till like 4-5 in the morning when the stove fire goes out, and fire is started back up when we wake, essentially running on oil for maybe 2 hours. And my son's room is basically only about 3 degrees cooler than the main room where the stove is located, so I'd say that's a pretty effective heat transfer. Prior to the installation we had about a 10-15 degree difference!
I only gave it 4 stars on appearance just because to my personal taste, the plastic grills are not the prettiest things out there.
The fan itself is not ultra quiet, but it's not an unbearable noise either, which I am totally happy to deal with... The sound of saving money makes up for the slight fan noise.

Product was poorly packaged for shipping. Plastic cover was broken and the fan blade was unable to rotate without hitting the sides. Called for replacement, but now they're out of stock.
Product was lower quality than expected (made in China). I'll look for a better solution to my project before I try to have another shipped.

The fan does a great job of transfering heat from our living room to our bedroom and makes both rooms feel evenly heated. It really does a good job. The wiring for powering it needs to be hidden, the power cord is unsightly hanging down the wall.

we are a family that heats primarily with wood so until we installed these fans bedrooms would stay cold unless the doors were open. Now even with the fans on low the house is the same warm temperature throughout. The fans are quiet and just do an outstanding job. I would recommend them to anyone looking to heat bedrooms thT wouldn't normally get the heat otherwise. They were also easy to install. I installed three in an afternoon. Thumbs up on this product.

We have a woodstove in a large family room, but also have a long hallway where the heat just does not seem to radiate too. Our heat pump thermostat is at the far end of the hallway and seems to continuously run even though the family room is warm. We installed the thru-wall fan from the family room to the other side of the hallway and it works great!! Now the hallway is warm and we hope to save a little money from the heat pump running continuously. The fan is quite, and has 2 speeds. It would be nice if it had just 1 more lower setting.

I am using this productive to increase air flow in a basement. I installed a PTAC in a basement and needed a solution to move air around. I installed this product and it works great. In a closed room, I can feel return air flowing under the door so I know it is working. This product was very easy to install I was able to locate it next to a stud in order to make it more stable.

Easy installation, I used an extra person to vacuum drywall dust while I cut and to hold the one side of the fan , while I pushed in the other half from the other side of the wall. Start to finish 30 minutes. I'm using it on a 10'x12' room. Works well, if you have a bigger room, think about getting a larger cu.ft.
