14,000 BTU Direct-Vent Garage Wall Furnace Natural Gas(May be Converted to Propane Gas with Conversion Kit Model #8925)

The Cadet Electric Baseboard heater utilizes convection to circulate air and provide efficient warmth. Typically installed under a window, the cool air falls from the window area as the warm air rises from the heater, causing the air to tumble gently throughout your room. The quiet operation and low cost installation make it a perfect choice for a bedroom or nursery. Rugged steel construction, with powder coated paint for a durable, premium finish. Installation is easy with a pre-punched case at 1 in. intervals, and wiring is available at either end. A thermostat is required.

I purchased this unit to replace an old direct vent heater in my cabin that has no electricity. It is working well and really kicks out the heat. It has had a smell as it burns off whatever it is that is burning off, but that is dissipating. I like the thermostat that it comes with. The casing was a little marred and bent when opened but nothing I needed to send back. Overall a good product!
Yes, I recommend this product.

This is a simple vented heater that installs easily and produces more than adequate heat for the small area in which I have it. It has a clean, modern look and is easy to light and operate.

We purchased this unit because we had a prior version of the same wall furnace that was about 20+ years old and was not firing properly. We searched around the internet for prices and HD's price ($450 at the time) was $200-300 less than almost any other place (and free shipping).
Best yet, apparently the manufacturer hasn't changed much from the older model. This one slipped right into the older venting which made installation about a 20 minute process (and I still have the new venting in the event I should ever need to replace it).
All in all a great deal.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Had it installed a month ago and still can't keep the pilot lit. Installer thinks it's the gas valve. manufacturer says it's the pilot assembly, so they're sending a new one standard shipping. been a week and haven't seen it.

The furnace arrived with concealed damage which led me to believe that the mfgr. had packaged this with existing problems. The damage did not affect the performance of the unit. Home Depot offered 10% off to remedy the problem. The furnace works fine and Home Deport worked hard to rectify the situation. I like the direct vent concept in heating a small building.

Belches back some odiferous stuff on occasion. Have a CO detector & it hasn't gone off but.... Also, NO instructions for the propane conversion kit. Ended up having to have professional help.

I am updating my previous review. The metal smell disappeared but it is noisy when heating up and/or cooling down. I think it is from the metal going from cool to hot and vice versa. It does a great job on heating up but the loud ticking sound bothers me a little. I guess I will get use to it and I hope it eventually goes away for good.
Yes, I recommend this product.

This is my first review. I buy or don't buy based on reviews. I was trying to decided on ventless or vented. Based on the reviews vented won, and this heater had very good reviews. I got this product in 5 days. All parts were included and in good shape. The only problem was I was expecting 20' of thermostat wire and only got 10'. It heats up my one car garage great. One down side is I smell metal a little. I am hoping this is just because it is new and after several uses this smell will disappear. It was an easy install. Cutting the whole in the wall was a bit scary and the vents were larger than I was expecting..But, I really LOVE my heater. It replaced my kerosone of 4 years. The thermostat is one of the great features also.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I had previously owned an earlier version of this exact model. It was 17 yrs old and not heating efficiently.I also could not get parts anymore because of newer gas valve safety upgrades. This new unit fit perfectly where the old one was.The vent hooked up with ease.

This is a good product, works well, installed pretty easily. I don't have the fan option, which forces room air thru the unit to distribute the heat faster/evenly. But even without the fan the convection action of the heat (hot air rising) still actually makes quite a breeze coming out of the top. And it's HOT! It works very well in regards to heating the room air, even despite the fact that it does so with a heat exchanger (the flame doesn't come in contact with room air, only the outside air is heated, and the heat in that air is coupled to the room air without direct contact using a radiator inside the unit. In this way no combustion gasses like carbon monoxide or carbon dioxide will be generated inside the room, they are all exhausted to the outside). Also make sure to close the doors and windows so that as the heat slowly comes down from the ceiling it doesn't go out the top of an open door way. If you have a ceiling fan that will help distribute the heat faster.
Note that the first time you turn it on it will burn off the oily film that's on the metal surfaces, and it makes quite a smell. I even wiped it down with alcohol first, but it still made quite a stink. Open the windows and let it run for a couple of hours.
The only real gripe I have about it is that it's really noisy when it turns off. It clangs and bangs as the metal cools and shrinks, much like your car does after you turn it off, only much louder. The instructions say this problem could be due to being mounted to a slightly bowed wall (I'm assuming this means that the metal structure is being stressed and pulled by the mounting hardware, so that when the metal expands or shrinks thru heating cycles it tends to pop in and out of shape). I'm an engineer and have tried everything to stop the noise, at one point making it virtually "float", making sure the mounting hardware wasn't pulling it this way or that. I even loosened the mounting of the vent to the outside of the house to make sure that wasn't pushing or pulling it. But alas, it still clicks and bangs loudly when cooling, but luckily it isn't as loud when heating up. I haven't given up trying to calm this noise, but I took back the first one thinking it was faulty and this second one has the same issue so I can only assume it's not loud because it's broken. On top of all that, I replaced the drywall in this area before the install to get rid of a poor previous patch, so everything behind the heater is new and flat. I got a good deal on it because it was (is?) being discontinued, and got it for far less than the normal price. I'm OK with the noise only because it was such a deal.
If I find the solution to this noise, I'll report back. I haven't read about any other major noise issues, so maybe it still is my walls that are somehow to blame. After all the experiments I've done I can't see how, but I'm still open.
If there were no noise or even only the slight ticking of expanding/contracting metal that one might expect from a heater, then I would have given this heater an Excellent A+++ rating.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Heater arrived in good shape, with all components. The illustrations in the instruction manual were too small in some cases and I had to enlarge and print off the PDF file. Installation was easy and it works great! Thought the exhaust vent cap might have been painted white or some neutral color, instead it is bare sheet metal, rather industrial looking for residential applications. Overall, this is a nice unit though.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Had it installed in my mom's kitchen and she loves it. It will run when the power is off which was the reason we bought it.

My 30 year old heater was a montomery ward model.
I found this Williams heater after a lot of searching
& it looked very similar. Sure enough, it was a perfect
fit for 9" hole in the wall & all gas connections.
Plus has wall thermostat & electric sparker which are
new features.
