We recently purchased an American Standard EverClean 6 ft. Whirlpool Tub in White. We additionally purchased the American Standard Safe-T Heater and had our plumber also install a "MIXING VALVE" to our water heater to make sure we have plenty of hot water (This made a HUGE difference, we now have enough hot water to fill the entire tub, with hot water to spare). The install is complete (the tub sets in a beautiful tile box/tub surround) and this outstanding tub and Safe T Heater works exactly as advertised. the American Standard Safe-T Heater MAINTAINS the EXISTING temperature of the water in the tub throughout the entire time of the bath for as long as you want (*Note: We had our plumber add battens of insulation in the tub surround box cavity to make sure the tub was well insulated so that the hot water in the tub stayed hot longer). This tub heater is an exceptional value and worth every penny. Just be sure to follow the additional installation steps (Mixing valve, and the added insulation in the tub surround box cavity) and your set.

Haven't really used it yet since it is a walk in tub heater and we installed it in the summer. But the one thing I know is if it doesn't work I can take it back to Home Depot with full confidence that they will rectify the situation.

I added this to my 6' extra long tub and it was worth the investment. It was very easy to install in the tub and had no leaks. After filling the tub with warm water, it would keep it hot as long as I was running the jets. Kept me from having to keep adding warm water. Be sure to run a SEPARATE circuit for this heater - separate from from the spa pump. I believe it has to be GCI as well.
