Bought this compressor 8 years ago on the recommendation of a friend that said his was the quietest air compressor he had ever seen. I have to say, it is really quiet! Oil changes once a year and a regular cleaning of the intake filter have kept mine in top shape. I fully expect this thing to last 30 years.

If you dont have the room or don't need a huge compressor this is a good one.it worked great right out of the box.did the break in thing and all is well.it runs my air wrench, impact and nail guns just fine.its not the quietest compressor I've ever had but its far from the loudest one I've ever had. Well worth the money.

STAY away from Husky products, they don't back or help you if something goes wrong with them , have one and it won't build enough pressure , get to a point and just keeps running.
Called Husky and said to old , only 1 1/2 years old , used so little plastic is still on site glass for gauges.
Wouldn't do anything for me, told them i would write a bad review and all she said was okay.
So i did , hope this helps.

Not having 240 in my shop, I wanted a compressor that would blow out my 5 sprinkler lines without taking me all day, which is the case with my little 12 gal., 1.5 h.p., model, and that would work with a 20 amp. circuit. After checking the reviews on the models avail. in my area I purchased this one, as it had 41 of 46 positive reviews. I had some concerns about the few negative reviews but the store associates assured me that I could return it if there were any problems. It works great! It does have a slight knocking sound under load but so did my old unit that I've used for probably 20 years. It's quieter than I thought it would be and I don't have to chase it around the shop when I'm using it. I've had no problem with it tripping the breaker even with a refridgerator and freezer on the same line. I love the industrial strength hose real that I bought with it and mounted on the wall next to it! I'm very satisfied with my decision to buy this one!
Yes, I recommend this product.

I needed a quick replacement for my 40Yr old compressor. Even after reading a few reviews about rod bearing failure, I settled on the VT6315 because of its cast iron oiled pump, compact size for a 30G tank, and the Campbell Housefeld reputation.
It's absolutely critical to use type of oil recommended in the manual. The oil drained after a first 30-minute unloaded run turned from clear to dirty grey from microscopic metal particles which is perfectly normal for break in. A 2nd 30-minute run produced drained oil that was almost clear.
Charging the tank for the first time was relatively quiet and uneventful. When reaching about 90 to 135PSI (shut-off), some clacking can be heard from the reed valves. Again, this is normal for this type of compressor as the valves slam against the outlet ports.
Some costs have been cut but are not a deal breaker. The pressure gauges are cheap, small and hard to read. I replaced them with some 2" gauges from the old unit.
The biggest drawback is the location of a little round brass tank drain valve which is only 1/4" above the floor. It's understandable to keep the center of gravity low (a good thing for a wheel-mounted vertical tank), but requires the carefull use of pliers while on your knees to open and close. This should be replaced with at least a hex nut to permit open/close with a small wrench.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I bought this compressor as an upgrade from my portable 17gallon compressor which the motor had failed and have been completely satisfied. I did rig up a better oil drain system as the one that came with mine would drip out onto the tank. I've been running this system for about 2.5 years and have used it fairly regularly for cleaning my driveway, airing up my tires, all sorts of auto repairs, even use it with my sanders when cleaning up engines.
My only regret was not getting the 60 Gallon setup at the time, which was less than $50 more. The 60 Gallon wasn't portable and seemed at the time more than I would need... Such is life! :)
I wouldn't exactly call this a "portable" compressor. Even though it has wheels it's fairly heavy. I just keep it tucked in the corner of my garage and got a longer hose!
Suggest Mobile 1 0w30 or 5w30 when changing the oil.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I had been eyeing this compressor for quite some time because it was exactly what I needed for my garage and the reviews were great. I decided to finally pull the trigger and purchase it this weekend. As soon as I got it home I ran it for the 30 minute breakin period then started pressurizing the tank. After the tank pressure reached about 80 psi the motor started knocking and got progressively louder as the tank pressure built up from there. I evacuated the tank and the motor ran quiet, but as soon as I began building up the pressure it sounded like a rod or piston was going to come through the motor housing. I decided to check recent reviews on the Home Depot site to see if anyone else had experienced a similar issue. I was surprised to see three recent posts about engine knocking exactly like mine. I took the compressor back to Home Depot the next day and explained the situation and my findings. I said I would be happy with an exchange if they would allow me to do the engine breakin at the store. I didn't want to have to lug another compressor home just to see if it worked. They gladly oblidged and 30 minutes later we pressurized the tank only to find that this compressor was reacting in the same manner as the one I had purchased. The Home Depot employees were great and gladly refunded my money. Side Note: While initially trying to troubleshoot this problem at home, my neighbor pointed out that the compressor I had purchased was not identical to the one pictured and described on the Home Depot Site; i.e. the wheels on my compressor were formed plastic and not pneumatic as described on the web site. There were also cosmetic differences which led us to believe that the "new lower price" was possibly due to a change in supplier and/or parts during the manufacturing process. I am sure if you bought this compressor in 2010 or prior it is probably as good as the reviews have it, but something is amiss with this new lower priced version. Home Depot was great about the whole return process so I am still a big fan!! Still on the lookout for a comparable replacement and if they ever get this issue resolved I would purchase the same model again.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I picked up this compressor and brought it home and performed the 30 minute break in and then i closed the bleed valve and after 50 psi the engine started to knock just like other reviews have said so i called Campbell Hausfield and they said that it was probably a connecting rod knock and would have to be repaired.I also called the warranty repair shop and they also said that they were having other compressors with this concern.I ended up sending it back to the store for a refund because i didn't pay for a used repaired compressor i paid for a new one.I am very disappointed after spending all of this time and effort that the manufacture hasn't recalled the pumps and repaired the problem before the customer is inconvenienced.

Runs very well, No leaks, Very quiet Compressor only complaint is the plastic belt guard on mine rattled a bit but easily fixed with some bushings I had laying around and now it’s super quiet! If you’re in the market for a Compressor in the neighborhood of 30 Gallon's then I'd suggest you look at this one

Brought this compressor home and did the 30 minute break in, after this I closed the valve and let it build to pressure. This is when I heard the very distinct knocking that others have mentioned. I figured maybe it was supposed to sound that way since others mentioned it. I used it for about 30 minutes with my Framing nailer and when I went to look it over I noticed rubber from the belt all over it, the belt was getting all chewed up already. I should also mention it kept tripping my 20amp Circuit Breaker that was installed specifically for this thing. I'd say out of 10-15 cycles it tripped out 5 times. For the price paid for this compressor the quality needs to be much better. This compressor isn't worth half of what they are selling it for. I bolted it back to the pallet, loaded back into the truck and back to the Depot we went... thankfully they have an excellent return policy and took it back no questions asked, as if its normal for them to take these things back. ...and so the search continues for a good quality compressor.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I have owned this compressor for a little less than 2 years, it runs flawlessly. Very quiet, the best one ive owned so far. I have no problem running impact tools, paint guns, etc. It is worth every penny I paid for it. And its 110v, so you can plug it into almost any shop, or even in your home/garage. My brother liked it so much that he went out and bought one just like it.

This VT6315 Husky CF compressor is great because by standing up it takes up so little room in my tight garage. Never had a problem with 110V. I use it mainly to winterize my 6 zone sprinkler system, fill up tires in the car, blow out dirty equipment and to change wheels. I've had this one for 2 years now and it absolutely looks like new. I'm on my 3rd oil change now, don't be shy about changing the oil with 30 weight compressor oil or Mobile 1 synthetic. Again, an awesome machine.

I wanted a compressor I could use to run the pneumatic tools handed down to me. I needed enough cfm to allow me to rotate tires, work on lawn tractor and Blow out my seven zone lawn sprinkler without the compressor turning on every minute. This unit has done what I needed. This compressor is assembled with metric parts. I added a shutoff to control the air to the hose. This was necessary for blowing out my underground sprinkler. I ran for one hour and changed the compressor oil as recommended. Its on wheels but the unit is still heavy (top heavy) to move other then in an area like a garage floor or large flat hard level surface. I purchased 100' of hose to get to the connection where my back flow is located. Everything worked as I hoped.
Note sure why they use an SCFM rating either. This rating is determined by a very specific work environment/temperature for the compressor to operate. Google SCFM to find more on this rating. The water drain valve located on underside of tank could be difficult to access if you can not move the compressor and lean back 10-20 degrees.
Yes, I recommend this product.

After reading all the very positive reviews over the years I decided to pick one up for myself. I got the first one home and do the proper break in of it and it the first time I let it build pressure I hear, what sounds like, pretty distinct rod knock once it got to around 80psi or so. I took it back and got another one. Did the same break in procedure and this one did the same thing. I talk myself into thinking it must be "normal". A few days go by I decide to call the manufacturer's tech line just to see what they say about the "rod knock" noise. They tell me to bring it to a local warranty shop and have it checked out. I bring it there and he agrees that it doesn't sound right either. He then calls the manufacturer directly and they also tell him it should not be making that noise either and I can either take it back once again or he can tear into it to see what the problem is. Everything would have been covered under warranty. I decided that I already took it back once already and I would try a different brand.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I have been researching air compressors for the last month before finally deciding to go with this one. I almost went with the 26 gallon value pack one for about a hundred less, but after reading all the reviews on that one and this one I figured it was worth the extra cash especially with the 10% military discount. So far so good just make sure you follow the instructions about checking the oil and changing it after the first hour. If you are looking for an air compressor, do your own research, but spend the extra cash and go for this one!

This item seems like a pretty soild unit. I had to upgrade my 15 amp service to 20 amp after purchase. Drain valve is difficult to access. Tires are not pneumatic as described, they are rubber. This is a Campbell Hausfield unit and should last me many many years. I do wish Husky equipment were promoted a bit better. No website, can't research their tools easilly. I would like to purchase more of their air tools but I can't find their products anywhere on the internet.
