They only give a 90 day warranty for a mailbox that looks like it should last forever. Mine is less than 2 years old and has so much rust that it is unsafe to use.
Should not be on the market! I want my money back!

This mailbox appears to be very well made and the fact that it weighs 20 lbs and is made of steel speaks for itself. The piano hinged door is a huge plus since the riveted hinges very often break far too soon. The price is reasonable given the apparent quality.

This is the highest quality mailbox available. Strong, sturdy, and functional. And unlike cheaper, flimsy mailboxes, this one maintains its form over time, so the door never becomes hard to close, doesn't rust, fall appart, etc. I'm a mail carrier, so I see what different types of mailboxes look like after years of use and this is my favorite.

Have had this mailbox mounted on 5 different treated wood posts on a state highway. The first time it was knocked off by a passing grain harvester that was riding the berm to clear oncoming traffic and broke the arm off the wood post -- no damage to the box, just remounted to a new post. Repeated this process 4 times due to different collisions over 3 1/2 years. Night before last night (New Years) suffered a direct hit by a pickup's front grille. Destroyed grille, radiator, and mailbox. Will be reimbursed by insurance for this one, but the truck has several thousand dollars damage !

Love the mailbox! We don't have a problem with vandals, but it would certainly stand up to the abuse! That is one reason we bought the Gibraltar, and that it's one sassy looking mailbox! Should last a lifetime!

My last mailbox was destroyed by several axe blows. I think that this mailbox will be much better able to survive blows from a baseball bat or other similar items. This mailbox will last much longer than my post. I'm verry happy with the heavy duty construction of this mailbox.

Heavy duty paint job. Not sure a baseball bat could dent it, but it would hurt anybody that tried. Magnetic catch seems a little weak, but time will tell and it can be replaced. If you want to buy a one time mail box this would be it. Most important is that it is made in the USA.

I was looking for a mailbox that would stay shut. Every year I would have to buy a new mailbox because the door would not stay shut. This mailbox does the job. The magnet holds it shut. The mailbox is very sturdy and easy to install.

I bought this item to withstand our local mailbox baseball
players and welded it to a railroad rail. The box replaces
six that bit the dirt along with four others belonging to my
neighbors that were behind it. I told the neighbors that if
my box survived and protected theirs I would expect some
protection payments. LOL

In refurbishing our front yard, we wanted a mailbox which wasn't going to look weathered, dinged up and cheap in just a few years. This looks and feels like it fits the bill.
It's finish is excellent and it feels indestructible. The assembly parts are all stainless steel. We're highly satisfied.

I have to replace my mailbox every winter due to the snowplow. I'll bet those days are finally over. This is one tough, heavy duty mailbox. I just hope the 4x4 post is strong enough.

We bought this box to replace the broken one at our new house. Had to order it, since (for some inexplicable reason) the stores don't carry white mailboxes. Installed in about five minutes. Piano hinge is nice, inset door with strong magnetic catch will be great if we ever get rain here again.

Our old box had suffered repeated attacks and repairs, including an ax attack that cut the top. I ordered this box knowing that it is vandal resistant but not vandal proof so added some extra protection by mounting it between horizontal pipes that extend from the post. The post is a piece of 3 inch drill stem that is driven 4 feet deep and the box mounting frame is 1 1/2 OD pipe that is welded at a right angle to a bigger pipe inserted in the post, allowing the box to pivot if hit. The pipe frame is formed into a hoop over the front of the box and a set screw keeps the box and frame from being lifted off the post while still allowing the pivot action. This should defeat most attacks but only time will tell how well this works.

Home Depot was great, but the manufacturer has poor quality control. The mailbox was delivered in it's original sealed packaging, and the box was undamaged. However, upon opening the box, I discovered a mailbox that was bent in several places along the front and back. Enough that the mailbox door would not open properly. Also, the finish on the mailbox was cheap and was rubbed off in some locations and coming off in others. The ironic thing is that the reason we bought this mailbox was due to the manufacturer claims of indestructibility ... If it cannot even make it into the box undamaged at the manufacturing facility, how will it handle the real world? We returned it immediately at a local store and the process was smooth and easy.
