1/6 HP Submersible Utility Pump

The WAYNE1/6 HP Submersible Utility Pump is ideal for draining flooded basements, emptying water-filled boats and removing water from sinks, tubs and flat roofs. Its oil-filled, thermally protected motor helps prevent overheating and can pump up to 950 GPH at 0 ft. of lift. The 3/4 in. discharge adapter connects to standard garden hose and its bottom-suction design removes water down to within 1/8 in. of the surface.

I own other wayne pumps and have been very pleased with there performance. After what happened with this one I will never buy a wayne pump again. I used this pump to cycle the water in my fountain/pond in my back yard. The pump died after about 5 months. I called wayne to get a replacement and was told they would not honor the warranty because I hooked up the pump to a timed switch. They concluded that the switch allowed the pump to run out of water which ruined the pump. I explained that could not happen because the pond is self filling. The pump just circulates the water and the fish in the pond would be dead if it ran dry. They are doing just fine. That did not matter to wayne. Wayne does not back its products anymore so I will not buy from them anymore.

A good pump for the money, but I bought it to take the water off a pool cover. I had it sitting in a 5 gal bucket with 1/4 inch holes. The screen on the bottom of the motor is micro! You need to clean it every 15-20 min's. I removed the screen and it seemed to work O.K.
Good motor for the money but remove the screen and take your chances.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Short and sweet. This pump is every thing you need for a 1/6hp home/shop pump. The motor is very quiet and works down to less then 1/8 inch of water. Heavy duty plastic outer shell with an "O" ring attached to connect a cord so you don't have to lift it by the wire. I had to use this pump in a small pond and it worked effortlessly. At the bottom of the pond some sand and grit did get into the pump and slowed the amount of water pumped, but a quick spray with the hose cleared it and was ready to go again. I have used this many times so far and found it worth the price.
Yes, I recommend this product.

This light weight very effecient pump is great for the average Joe/Jill. Attaches easily to an everyday garden hose. Great for any area that has standing water or a tendency to flood like a basement floor and even a flooded kitchen, stopped up sink or tub. Just attach the garden hose to the pump, put the hose down drain pipe or sink, plug it in and walk away it is that easy to work no bell or whistles needed. I challenge you to find a better pump for your small flooding problems.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Purchased this pump through the website for my elderly mother to handle groundwater in her basement during this summer's MO River flooding. Easy to use, very efficient. Also, 1 day shipping via UPS was very economical ... Thanks Home Depot!

I used the pump to put into our brackish water canal and pump water up into two aquariums (55 gal. and 35 gal.). No more filling 5-gallon buckets, lifting out of water, carrying them into the lanai and dumping the water into the aquariums (most of the water). Now, all I do it set the pump into one of the 5-gallon buckets, submerge it, hook up the hose with the other end in the aquarium, plug it in and sit back:-)). a piece of cake!

Bought this to remove water from crawl space under the house. This pump handled the task with ease. Connect and roll out the hose, plug in the pump and you're done. I prop up the end of the hose making it easier to monitor the water flow. Wouldn't want to burn this baby up.

I used this to drain an old hot tub that had about 2 ft of water in it. No assembly required, just ran a hose as directed and the hot tub was empty in about 20 minutes. Great product - very glad I purchased.

We have a leak in our basement and I picked this pump to hold us over until we can get some professional help. We're getting 60-80 gallons per day coming in, and I just put this thing on the floor and bought a timer for it. It's quiet and it sucks down lower than any other pump I checked out. We've been running it even after the water has been drained, and it hasn't burnt out yet.

I've had this pump a few weeks. I bought it to empty a spa I am not using right now since I do not have a spa cover yet and use the pump to empty the rainwater from the spa. I left the pump in the spa and we experienced several major downpours over the next week. When I remembered that the pump had been in the spa and been submerged for several days, I figured I had ruined the pump. After taking it out of the spa and letting it sit for a day, it ran just fine. It drains the spa in minutes and I can see many uses for it. It has a metal ring on the top for attaching a lifting line to it. I cut about 6' from the end of an old garden hose for a discharge hose. It lifted the water about 30" with excellent discharge pressure. The electric cord was plenty long enough for my use. As advertised, it left the last 1/8" of water in the spa.
Pros: Reliable, Easy to Install, Good Instructions, No Leaks
Yes, I recommend this product.
