beautiful and easy to install,
September 28, 2006
By AnitaC

"A perfect addition to our "new" kitchen! This fan is modern and fashionable for our semi-updated kitchen. It was very easy to assemble, and equally easy to install. The size is perfect for small spaces and the look is "TODAY!", even though it is located in our 1939 kitchen with originial metal cabinetry and red pine flooring! Love it!"

Wheeeew!!,

"I have 8 hampton bay fans in my home, and have never had a problem out of any of them. I bought this fan 3 weeks ago to put into my laundry room. the shorter blades is what I have been looking for! I will always use hampton bay for 3 reasons:
1. style
2. cost
3. quality

Nice Fan,
January 21, 2010
By Psalm
from Freeport, Bahamas
"I bought this fan for a small room in my home which is currenly being used as an office/study. Anyone purchasing this fan must be realistic in that it is not ideal for a lage room but for a small one. I do not find the fan to be noisy at all, and assembly I suppose was easy, considering I had a professional install it and he had no complaints, as with the rest of the fans from home depot. I love the color, its very contemporary and classy. I think the price was excellent as well. The air output was nice and I like the fact that it came with energy efficient bulbs! A good buy."

Nice looking but Loud Motor & Low lighting,
January 16, 2010
By 4JCalltheway
from Nashville, TN
"The look of this fan is great, the short blades perfect for a smaller room. The only two drawbacks are the loud hum of the motor on all three speeds (gets a little louder the faster it goes), and the poor lighting. Even though it has 3 bulbs, the lighting is still too dim for me, and the output of airflow is not that great, even when it is on high. It just kind of circulates the air. I think maybe you should keep looking and if you can't find a look that is close to this one, then maybe you should buy this one if a humming noise won't bother you."

very noisy, air flow is not good,
January 5, 2010
By homeowner29
"I have an 11'X11' kitchen where I installed this fan. It is in the corner, so the short blades are a nice feature. However, the air flow is very low, you can hardly feel it standing near it. Also, when switching from the different fan motor speeds, the motor makes a lot of noise, sort of a grinding noise. I will be replacing this fan with a light fixture instead."

Nice design, but it is so lound.,
September 7, 2009
By Satolsa

"I never wrote any online review before, but I have to this time as warning. The fan has nice design, price and even comes with florescence light bulbs, but (BIG BUT) the motor makes unbearable annoying loud humming noise that you cannot believe. As you can see other reviewers are complaining about the same problem it is not the way I installed. I installed ceiling fan a bunch of times. Hampton Bay should not be selling this poor quality product. BIG NO for bed rooms. Maybe fine for outdoor."

Don't do it...,
August 18, 2009
By Cirrus

"I have never written a review to an online forum, but I read them all the time. Please don't waste your time with this fan. I've installed the first one, which was extremely loud; returned it for a second one, and it is too extremely loud. Poor design. In 2009, this should not be happening. Save your time and energy and buy a different brand."

Junk,
July 25, 2009
By Loodachris
from Spanaway Wa
"Bought this fan last weekend and it turned out to be very loud. The motor would humm very loud on medium and slow settings. After a day of night time use only the motor started to make a grinding noise. Took this back the next weekend and got a replacement of the same brand and model. This time we didn't even put on the light fixture just in case and guess what same thing with this one. The grinding noise is actually louder on this one compared to the last one. This fan will also so back but this time for a full refund. 36in. fan was perfect for our vaulted ceiling so now off to a special lighting store for a more expensive and better quality fan. Read the other reviews and you will see the same problem."

"This fan is great for a small room. Installation was not super easy but neither was it very difficult. The wood on one side and black on the other gives you an option of color to go with your room. I would recommend this to a friend. An added bonus, it comes with 3 light bulbs!"

Humms, noise and heat,
May 31, 2009
By tater1998
from southern IL.
"This fan looks very nice, comes with CFL bulbs which is cool, assembly was easy...like the screws are already in the blade arms so when you attach them to the motor its a lot easier, but I tried 4 of these fans, all of them hummed, made a slight grinding noise and put out heat. The humming was so bad that you can feel it in the walls. On the second fan i took advantage of the warranty and the manufacture sent me the guts of the fan (chain switch, rev switch and capacitor) but it was the wrong one and they wouldn't listen or believe me. So i tried 2 more and they had the same results."

Looks nice but performs poorly.,

"The overall styling and look of this fan were exactly what me and my wife were looking for in our master bath, but the fan hums loudly. We have eight other ceiling fans in our home and this one is by far the loudest of all of them and they're all 15 years old. I would not recommend this fan."

Excellent Fan for the price,
May 15, 2009

"I just recently purchased this fan for my guest bedroom and it works great in a 12 x 20 room. You can't beat the price for that size fan either. If you are considering this fan, I highly recommend it. If you can follow simple instructions and can twist a few wires together, this will take 15 minutes to install. Great product!"

"i love this fan. i bought it for a cheep price. its small size fits perfecly in my room. i dont realy under stand why people are saying it hums, but if you look it says specificaly in the directions that it will hum if you dont tighten the bolts tight enough. it works great for the price and its modern desighn matches the other modern day things. you can change the reversable blades to match almost any room. it is also prety easy to mount and it fits in most, (UL) aproved light mounts, you can also buy a remote for it for about $10. its realy sturdy for its size & price. i say if you want a good compact fan that works great and is prety cheap, then this fan is the way to go."

"My husband and I recently bought 6 of the 36" San Marino fans online, they arrived all at one time, 7 days after we order them, and without damage. We installed them all though our home and we could not be happier. That's saying alot because we are very picky consumers. They are quiet and look great in every room. I really recommend this product."

36" San Marino Ceiling Fan,
July 7, 2008
By JH1979
from St. Charles, MO
"Fan is very attractive and the size fits a bedroom well. It is very powerful for a smaller fan. The quality of manufacture is good and parts fit together well. Installation was a bit more difficult than other fans I have installed as the mounting plate was a bit larger than usual and it was hard to get the wires into the junction box once the wiring was done. I would recommend this product."
