Nice product.,

"After reading several positive reviews, and a Consumer's Report review on this shop vacuum, I purchased one. I also purchased the VT2570 Hose kit (10 ft long, more flexible), the VT2525 Muffler attachment, and the VF2004 internal vacuum bags. This makes for a really nice shop tool. It's quieter than my previous shop vacuum, the internal dust bags keep the filter clean and make the emptying cleaner and easier (I really recommend the bags, only for dry vacuuming). the vacuum is a reasonable size, relatively light weight, and the longer, more flexible hose makes using it easier. (This hose should be standard on all Rigid vacuums, even if they cost a few bucks more, well worth it). The power cord is reasonably long, and can be wrapped around the handle for storage. There is a attachment bag that installs on the top rear of the vacuum for attachments that come with it. Oh, and yes it picks up shop debris very well. I would recommend this tool, and the accessories noted above."

Pro Vac,

"I have a small shop 24x24 and this vacuum does all the dust collection for all my power tools through a 2.5" clear tubing placed on the wall. Router tables, table saw, band saw, drill press and stationary sander. It does a fantastic job. To eliminate the filter from clogging so fast - I have a separator right before the vacuum. My hat off to Rigid for producing such a machine - for Christmas I asked my wife for a second vacuum just like this one. LS"

This vac sucks.,
December 8, 2009

"The RIGID WD1450 sucks really hard. It sucks up everything. I have no idea how I lived without this thing. After I ran out of things to suck up at my house I took it to a friend's house just to keep using it. I accidentally sucked up a pair of balled up socks (you know how your mom used to ball two socks together so that they would stay together). They were my wife's and she did not find it nearly as funny as I did.
Things I love:
Easy to move, rolls well and is stable. It sucks things up really, really, really well. No dust blows out upon startup. You would think that all vacuums would have this feature but my previous vac (not a RIGID- the brand starts with an S and ends with a C) blew dust everywhere.
More things that I love: Convenient handles for both moving and picking up. Drain port-I have not used this yet but I wasn't looking forward to hefting that thing around just to empty it once it was full of water. Easy to assemble the very few parts that had to be. Great storage of attachments and accessories. The 20ft cord is perfect. My previous vac had a cord that was a whopping 3 feet which is strange because every single mess that I made was exactly 3 inches further from the wall than the length of the cord and the vacuum hose combined.
While it doesn't matter too much I like the way this thing looks. It must have had good looking parents. I like the idea that somewhere out there in RIGID land there are folks trying to make this thing the best that they could."

RIDGID 14 Gallon Pro Vac WD1450,
November 7, 2009
By Electrotech
"I needed a shop vac to replace my noisy Hoover, sounds like a jet engine running, that always puts out a puff of dust on start up.
After much research and reading reviews, I bought this vac, plus an extra FV5000 filter and the 7' extension hose VT2520. Another factor in purchasing is that RIDGID is owned by Emerson.
This shop vac is in my opinion a very good product, it has powerful low noise suction. The scroll noise reduction technology really works, and in my opinion is worth the extra cost over cheaper vacs.
I also like the fact that three different levels of filters are available, although a bit pricey they should last quite awhile.
My only minor complaint is the cord winder ears on the top handle should have been an inch longer on each end.
So if you want a good shop vac, I don't think you can go wrong with this one!"

"I tend to base purchases on user reviews, and Ridgid scored again. Powerful and a well thought out design. Well worth the money. This replaced a Shop Vac that blew the motor a week after the warranty ran out. Haven't had that problem with Ridgid products."

"This replaces a worn-out 6-Gal Shop Vac. I needed something slightly larger to help with sawdust removal in my workshop and general home use. This vac completely fits the bill. It is quiet, powerful and extremely mobile. I like how the attachments fit on the vac and the host has the locking feature - I cant count the number of times I have pulled the hose out of my old vac.
Well worth the money."

Wasn't disappointed!,
May 4, 2009

"I owned a Sears Craftsman for years. It did OK BUT sounded like the Concorde taking off. The WD 1450 has several advantages over my old vac. First and foremost, it is quiet. Secondly, the suction is better.Other advantages include the fact that it is almost impossible to tip over, the cord is much longer, and it has a spout for emptying liquids. Enough said...Buy this one, you won't be disappointed."

Strong, quiet (for a vac), and durable,
April 30, 2009
By seriousamateurwoodworker

"I use this vac in my shop as a dust collector as well as general use around the house and garage. It has plenty of power for dust collection on my table & miter saws, 15" planer and jointer. I have used many shopvacs in the past and this is by far the quietest and most durable I have owned. My only complaint is that it fills up with sawdust pretty quickly (esp with the planer) and I should have purchased the larger size, but hey, thats my fault. This unit has seen almost daily use for over 2 years now and still going strong."

Great Vac,
November 22, 2008
By demille
"So far I have enjoyed this vac and it has done a good job. However, there's one thing that I don't like about the vac. I must say that I don't know if this is a problem with all shop vacs, or just this one. The filter clogs up really fast and I have to clean it all the time to keep good suction. I use this vac to hook to my table saw, sander, and router and it works really good, but over time it always clogs up and ends up having the suciton of a typical house vacuum (inadequate). The filter is huge and basically fills the whole storage tank. You can never get close to filling the vacuum and have to empty it before its even 1/4 full because just past 1/4 full, it will fill against the filter. Everything else works well though. The attachments fit well and the hose hooks right up to all my tools (granted most are Ridgid brand)."

Good value,

"Good value product. Solidly built like the other Ridgid brand. This vac could use some sort of a gasket material around where the power head sits on the drum section. i have had some problems with re-circulating drywall dust around the seam where the two fit together. otherwise a good product at a fair price."

"The attachments do not fit properly. This is very frustrating. I do not have the strength to twist and turn the attachments to get them to stay on while I am vacuuming. Is anyone else having this problem? I had to buy another attachment and it didn't fit either."

Yep....a very good shop vac!,

"The good quality I have come to know with having purchased a Ridgid brand Orbital Sander helped sell me on this, also the reviews on this with very favorable experiences also sold me. When I purchased on Dec 1, 2007 I opened it and set it up in minutes and tested on installed floor tile joints, which thoroughly impressed me, hooked up with both extensions with 2 1/2" x 1/2" wide nozzle and also sucked some leaves outside at the back door trying to get on my tile, it did this with ease. This vac truly does perform like a professional vac that it's supposed to be, this is a no holes barred, quiet, durable looking, high performance vac that seems to run cool if you touch the top motor housing, this tells me it'll last. The low noise level is important because I don't want to go deaf using a shop vac, also it doesn't tip over when pulling on hose which really ticked me off when that would happen with my cheapy Craftsman I just threw away. Buy this and you will be pleased."

"Always wanted a shop vac of my very own for wet & dry cleanup. Researched online consumer reviews & these customer reviews. Had never heard of the Rigid brand, so it's good I did some research, otherwise I would have gone with another well known "name" brand and might not have been as pleased. Works well, does the job, and I bought it on sale! What more can a happy shopper ask??"
