I bought several of these for myself and my mother's house. As she is an older women, I wanted "light" if power went out so she didn't have to stumble for flashlight or trip and fall.
The product is easy to install (you can even just sit it on the floor, or a bureau. Decent looking, and well constructed. My only complaint is that they cord should be a little longer. If you want to hang it on wall, fairly high up, the cord is not long enough.

A wonderful buy! My insurance company said I had to put emergency lighting in my gift shop. I figured I would give this a try as I did not want to have to hire an electrician to install it. The beauty of it is, I was able to plug into several outlets to determine the best coverage and then just mount it on the wall. The savings from not having to have an electrican install it more than covered the cost. The cord is more than ample to plug it in at the bottom of the wall and then mount the unit 8 feet up. I do agree with another reviewer that closing the unit back up was a bit difficult because of the internal wire length but I worked around it. A good value otherwise!!

This unit has been through some crazy storms and power problems. Espcially here in Florida, after being hit by tropical storm Debby. It is great at doing its job! Great light for a good amount of time. After a retaining tab from the back-plate broke I called up Lithonia and got a brand new one shipped to my door, FOR FREE!

For that immediate need, this is the product to get as long as you have an electrical outlet nearby. Works great, holds charge well beyond the minimum 90 minutes required (I tested it). By the way, really easy to test for a long duration - just unplug it! Illumination is very nice and consistant.

good value, some quirks...

I have a workshop that doesn't have any windows. I wanted an "emergency" light for the rare occasion of a power outage, to provide some light before the emergency generator starts up: just thirty seconds or so. A wide web search turned up this unit as my best choice.
i consider the unit to be very well-built. it's got a gel-cell lead-acid battery in it that's similar to the kind in the uninterruptible power supplies i use on my PCs. very nicely constructed, except....
to hang the unit on the wall, you need to remove the back cover, in addition to providing access to connect the battery leads, which are shipped disconnected.
i had a lot of trouble trying to get the back and front covers back together until i cut and shortened the internal input power wires. once they were pruned back, the covers went together fairly easily and hanging the unit on the wall was a snap.
it provides two nice beams of light that will let you see well enough to not trip over stuff during a "midnight in the cave" situation.
i recommend it for uses like these, as well as for an emergency "night light" when power goes out.
