Great Little Welder

I need a small welding unit for projects around the house and I needed the unit to be easy to use, can be used with or without a simple gas mixture, and can be rolled under my work bench. Most of my welding is on low-carbon steel and the welding is not life critical, just repaired.
This unit does the basic job. It took me one evening of practice to get the weld to look good and be strong. I have not tried the gas-welding yet, but I assume it will be just as easy.
I've built a small welding table, fix a large spoon for my wife, and built a storage stand for some large parts I'm working on.

I bought this welder to finish an exaust that was in desperate need of repair. I had never touched a welder before, so saying that i am a novice is an understatement. I watched the enclosed dvd (a great value in itself) then spent a coulpe of hours reading the manual. The setup instructions were very clear and precise. I practiced a little on some scrap metal. i was scared to pull the trigger the first time but it was much more quiet than I expected. After a few practice runs i was ready. I finished my whole project in just a couple of hours. Afterward, i was searching for anything i could find to weld on. By the end of the day, i had repaired a broken propane burner and a sagging weight bench.
I recomend this to anybody who wants a good quality machine that's easy to use right out the box.

Almost Perfect

This model wire feed welder is almost perfect. It is compact and accommodating as well as quite versatile. The instructional media is a great help. The only thing I found issue with is the trolley for carrying the gas is not a perfect fit for the tanks from welding gas suppliers. Also if you're going to be welding longer than two minutes at a time you would definitely want to have a welding hood not the hand held one provided.

Great little home welder. Very easy to set up and use and many sources for accessories and consumables even in my small community. High quality unit well worth the price.
