Customer reviews for Fescue Grass Seed Bonsai Dwarf

Fescue Grass Seed Bonsai Dwarf

The Stover Bonsai Fescue Grass Seed features a dark green, fine leaf texture to help create a better quality, thin-bladed turf with a slower rate of growth and less mowing required. This dwarf fescue grass can grow in sunlight as well as lightly shaded areas and can tolerate heat and drought conditions. This low-maintenance grass seed can be used by itself on lawns or to over-seed other fescue lawns.

I planted it and did everything that it said to on the bag. Well over two weeks now and nothing but I am getting some weeds now. Would tell you to save your money and do not buy it.

I planted this grass in the softer sandy soil of Daly City two years ago. I mow it once a year when it goes to seed.
It has a full grown height of about 7 to 10 inches during the spring.
After the first year, I water it if it doesn't rain after a month. More watering makes the grass greener.
Make sure to follow standard sewing techniques for new lawns, including rolling or stomping the ground flat and smooth, before you sew.
Pros: Durable, Vibrant Color, Easy to Clean, Easy to Install, Great Quality
Yes, I recommend this product.

I had my doubts about seeding a new lawn. It was late May and with Summer temps heading over 90 in a few weeks. I almost opted for buying sod from a nursery/sod farm but the idea of using transplanted grass on soil I took 3 mos to till and amend and have some dead patches or risk not all that expensive grass take root. I decided to seed it myself and Stover Bonsai Dwarf Fescue is was what I chose, not because most sod farms and nursery's that grow their sod use this seed for sod out here in So California, it was a less of a gamble then spending several hundred dollars on transplanted grass which is what sod basically is. I sowed the seeds and followed directions on the bag and well, with in 7-9 days later, I was surprised too walk out back and see lush dark green seedlings germinating ( The bag said 14-21 days for germination time.) Another 2 weeks later, I now have a beautiful lawn sure, I got about 10% weed germination too, but not to worry in another few weeks the dwarf fescue will start to choke out those weeds and spread out thicker and with regular watering, fertilizing and mowing the lawn at about 3" high the weeds won't be back. The Sod I priced out from a grower was $375.00 for 1,000 sqft. vs two bags of Stover Bonsai Fescue Grass Seed which cost with tax $42.00 oh, and a bag of starter fertilizer for another $10. I couldn't be happier and I am now in the process of planting this seed on my side lot of 800 sqft. and expect no less results that what I have already experienced. If your on the fence about which seed to use go with what the growers use you can't go wrong.
Yes, I recommend this product.
