The magnets are great and it sure stays in place but it can't be opened when you need it, without destroying the box. Wish I had read other people's reviews before purchasing.
Pros: Durable, Sturdy, Easy to Install, Good Size & Weight
Cons: won't open

Review 2 for Magnetic Key Box
I can't open it!!!
PostedDecember 6, 2012
This thing has very strong magnets and I have never lost one because of this. BUT I have gone through 3 of them because I have to replace it after every use. Why? Because I have to destroy it to get it open. Is there a trick to opening this device that I'm not aware of? Shouldn't the cover just slide open as indicated by the arrows? Well, it doesn't work for me.
Pros: Durable, Sturdy, Easy to Install, Easy to Move, Good Size & Weight, strong magnets
Even if I had seen the review by another buyer noting that the box itself won't open by any reasonable method, I would probably have thought she was inept and bought ithe product anyway. However, I now see her problem. We purchased one that can't be opened (without demolishing the product itself) by any of 5 very strong and resourceful individuals at our workplace. Not that we haven't used other brands of magnetic key boxes before--we have, but this one is in a class all by itself--useless from the gitgo.
I just wanted to write in and tell everyone that if are to get this key holder it won't slip off or anything. And it goes everywhere that you do provided that you put it in a secure enough area on your vehicle. I have one for my car which I take everywhere with me off road, through puddles, on fairly bumpy roads and when I checked it was still there. Recently I purchased one for a car that I planned on driving across the country and I had loaded it up with every spare key that I was going to need. After 2600 miles it was still in the same spot that I had left it when I started the trip.
I placed one of these boxes under my vehicle when I bought it 7 years ago and almost forgot about it. It has been through a deer decimating our undercarriage, many washes, winter in the mid-west with salt etc. In my moment of need ( I stupidly locked my keys inside my car)it was still firmly attached to my vehicle and it saved me the trouble of calling my husband or a locksmith. It was like winning the lottery! I will replace my old one as the magnets are rusting, but are still fully functional.
