This specialty tool saved a great deal of frustration when fixing a leaky kitchen sink drain in which the rubber seal had warped. This is designed to lock easily on the locknut, which is too large even for an adjustable wrench or pipewrench to get a decent grip on.
Be sure to get the corresponding P.O. Plug Wrench to hold the strainer in place from the top of the sink, as well, to avoid driving yourself crazy trying to make do with pliers or a screwdriver.
Another tip: The very helplful Home Depot associate strongly advised using silicone for the upper sink/strainer steel, even though many sites recommend the cheaper alternative of plumber's putty.
Yes, I recommend this product.

This tool works well and save a lot of frustration when replacing sink drains. The drains on both sides of our sink leaked after a time when the original installer made do with a pair of channel locks. I reset them with plumbers putty and this tool and there have been no leaks going on 2 years.
Yes, I recommend this product.

This is a decent tool, however, it makes one handed operation very difficult.. I would think it a bit better if the handle/arm interface was tight. That you would have to actually move it, rather than it being floppy...and flopping off the nut constantly...
Yes, I recommend this product.
