We had two of these heaters already and if you have to have electric baseboard heat (as we do in part of our house) these are great. Very easy to install and works great with a programmable thermostat. Would recommend.

I bought the heater thinking it would be much better than the electric heater I wanted to replace. What I found was 1) there is a very noticable klang or metal sound when it goes on or off.( old 20 year old heater didnot do that)
2) when they made these they were kind of skimpy with the material other heaters have deflectors at the top and bottom to deflect most of the heat into the room. These are just retanglular boxes with a heater inside. (no deflectors at all)
3) I thought they would retain heat better than they do.
Sorry but I don't think they are worth the extra cost. over regular baseboard heaters..
No, I do not recommend this product.

I replaced an old model that was probably installed in the 70's. This one looks almost identical however the old mounting brackets do not work with this model so I had to remove them. This unit is screwed directly to the wall without brackets. The old unit could be listed off the wall for replacing carpet, etc. This one will need to be unscrewed first. Overall, it does what it's supposed to do, heats the room and makes no noise at all.
Yes, I recommend this product.

i have a 2 story home unfourtenatly we never had great heat upstairs because of small duct work that was used. i eliminated and capped off all 4duct going up to my bedrooms and replaced them with hydronic baseboard heaters. WOW pretty much sums it up. very quit comfortable heat. by far the best heat i've ever felt. great great great product. i highly reccomend. my installation was a little expensive but other than that no complaints. i was also able to use digital wall thermostat which made it look that much better. thank youy homedepot for carrying this product. i used 2 1000watt hydronic heaters for my smaller bedrooms which measured around 150 square feet and for my bigger rooms which measured 200 square feet i used 2 one in each room 1500 watt hydronic heaters. only down fall is that i had to use 2 wall thermostats because each thermostat can only handle up to 3500 watt. so i wired 1 1000watt with 1 1500 watt to one thermostat and did the same with the other 2 rooms. good luck. my heating problems have been answered!!!!!
Yes, I recommend this product.

More expensive, but worth it

These are more expensive than the traditional electric baseboard, but I think it is worth it.
Recently installed this product to replace an old, defunct traditional electric baseboard. It is larger overall than the old one, but it is working perfectly and has really nice quiet heat. Not sure what type of electrical savings to expect, but since I only replaced one unit so far I probably won't notice a big difference on my bill.
Home Depot's price for this product was very good (I did my research), my only complaint is that this is the only size for this hydronic baseboard model that they carry. The manufacturer makes several smaller and larger sizes and I would prefer that HD offer the full product line (online) instead of this very limited offering. I don't live in a town with a HD store, but none within 100 miles of my location stock this product so I was limited to the online offering.
Very happy with the shipping as well. I received the products in excellent condition within 24 hours of placing my order online (with standard shipping).
Yes, I recommend this product.

Just replaced an existing 1970's version baseboard with this unit due to expansion/contraction, click noises and basic mistrust of the unit. Can't say enough about how nice this Hydronic one is working. Quiet and a much more even/consistent flow of heat. We will be replacing others in the home as well.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I've had Cadet's softheat hydronic electric baseboards in my house for 7 yrs and am really happy with them. They are far more efficient that regular baseboards and have paid for themselves over the years in utility savings. They are a bit slow to heat up, but once they are heating, they put out a smooth, even heat that has no 'edge' to it like regular baseboards do.
They tick a bit as they heat up, but it's not obnoxious, tis the sound of heat!
Yes, I recommend this product.
