The first pump did not run properly and after repeated attempts with manufacturer help to solve problem, we had to take it back to Home Depot. Ordered another and it is working fine now. Manufacturer was nice and helpful on phone calls and troubleshooting. Home Depot was great on return of item. These things happen but replacing a deep well pump is hard work and additional cost for us.
Pros: Easy to Install, Good Instructions, fair price
Cons: 1st pump did not work 2nd one works fine.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I have installed several flotec pumps in wells. While the price had me pleased the quality did not. Over 2 years only one of the 3 pumps is still running. The impellers are constructed of a sub par "plastic". Plastic impellers are normal in submersible pumps but the plastic in these pumps do not hold up to abrasives of any amount. These wells had good water. Balanced PH, low hardness and only a trace of iron. There was only enough sediments in the water "sand, silt, flake off from the well casing" that you could occasionally see a few grains in the sink. Not enough to warrant a sediment filter. But this was enough to destroy the impellers in a relatively short amount of time. After tearing the pumps apart once they went out on me I could see pitting on the impellers. Also the channeling of water to the "water bearings" of the impeller seemed to have very little engineering in them as they had a way of encouraging sediments to flow through this channel instead of flowing through the impellers themselves. Also, to top it off, one of the pumps seized up and locked the rotor. The pump was installed on a 15 amp beaker and the breaker did trip but before it did the motor was destroyed. There is no reason why a quality motor should burn up when installed on the recommended amperage breaker. This tells me that the motors in these pumps must be of the same quality as the pump end itself. So to all of you DIYers out there, if you are not going to hire a professional, at least buy a professional grade pump. Sorry home depot, you have saved me a lot of money but this one cost me.
No, I do not recommend this product.

The plastic/composite outlet and the safety wire/rope eye look marginal for strength. Otherwise, the entire package is quite acceptable. The performance, so far (one week), is good.
Yes, I recommend this product.
