You're best bet is to just throw this on the sandy ground in spring in a field or in your front yard. It competes well with grass. I have no problem growing phlox by doing this, its very happy this way and will spread, but my girlfriend bought this and insisted on planting it in potting soil and it completely failed. Potting soil is too damp for it. So just toss the seed in the grass in your front yard and be happy, it will spread and come back year after year.
