While it was working, it did a pretty good job of cooling, except for the freezer. The freezer was hit or miss in terms of freezing. I was hoping to have this fridge working for at least a school year until I moved from my dorm into an apartment. However the compressor stopped working, and my fridge now does not cool. If only it lasted two more months...

Bought this fridge for my office in 2010, compressor went less than 2 years, part is free to replace, but costs $250 in labor, i highly do not Recommend this product, please dont buy MAGIC CHEF, u will lose money!

As a college student my space is limited so but I wanted the largest size possible for the space I do have. I bought this my freshman year and that was in 2009. Its been running great ever since.

The refrigerator worked fine for 18 months then the compressor went out. The good news is that the compressor part is covered for 5 years, the bad news is that it costs about $250 to have it replaced.
Going to buy another small refrigerator, and not a Magic Chef.

Got this from my wife for Christmas for my guitar lair. Love it!! It holds lots of beer-including the odd shaped exotic Micro brews and the can dispenser is an added bonus. She got this particular one because she has the same one at work and it's been running constantly for almost 7 years with no issues, except that the freezer needs to be defrosted once a year.

It has a very nice appearance and is laid out very well but
if its a noisy fridge u want then this is the model 4 u. I see a lot of mixed reviews, some give it a top rating, maybe there are just bad batches out there. I too had a big dent in the top left edge (the outer box was intact, extremlely poor packaging.)
I let it sit as instructed before powering it on and when I plugged it in, I was shocked at the noise, it sounded like a coffee pot percolating, then it was making gurgling noises, totally unacceptable, even though it is in my garage, I can hear it 30 feet away through a closed door, took it back to HD, went accross street to Lowes and bought a 4.4CF Frigidaire

This was a good office fridge, while it lasted. Not completely silent, but not loud either. It has some nice features, including glass shelves, crisper tray, and full width freezer. After 2.5 years of use, I came in one morning, and it was not cooling anymore. At the price these things sell for, you can't afford to get them repaired. Disappointed with the fact that it only lasted 2.5 years, I replaced it with a similar GE model with stainless steel look front, which costs $10 less at a major warehouse club. Hopefully it will last longer than 2.5 years.

A fairly nice refrigerator, but it died in less than two year of being in service. I have a different brand refrigerator of the same size that is still going strong with over ten years of service.

We purchased this compact refrigerator 10 years ago for our garage. Worked great; kept water, soft drinks, beer, etc., cold all year long. We will be purchasing another one within the next few days due to my husband breaking the coolant line while defrosting it.

We purchased this model of compact refrigherator, because it was the same as the last one lasted one we purchased 4 years ago.
The old one just quit working one day. it was not worth calling in a service call.

I got this mini fridge as a graduation gift for my college dorm and have had it now a good 5 months. It's great for holding leftovers and stuff for simple meals like milk and sandwich meat. The freezer compartment is pretty good despite it not being a separate one. There's ton of space for cans and a 2 liter as well, and since the shelves are removable I can adjust the distribution of space to my liking. Overall I am very satisfied with this item and expect it to last me until I graduate college.

Great looking, great functioning, and it was easy to order and receive delivery. It would be nice if the delivery person could balance the refrigerator. That was a little hard for us to do.

This is not the right refrigerator if you are using it in a small work space. There is a very noticeable, irritating noise that will not go away. Also, the ice build-up in the freezer is almost immediate and accumulates very quickly - within a few weeks, the freezer needs to be defrosted, and this is on medium settings.
The size is good, it looks nice and the internal shelves are just the right size and space, but only purchase this model if you will not be sitting near it.

Like several others here I purchased this item, let it sit overnight instead of just the 4 hours before it was plugged in. I then plugged it in, and 30 minutes later checked it. The compressor was hot, and the coils in the freezer were ambient temp. I called the service number, and they wanted to schedule a service call on an item less that 48 hours old. I had a better idea, which was to take it back to HD. If there was a 0 rating I would give it that! HD needs to enforce their old quality standards. This product seems to be > 50% faulty. I wish things were made in America again.

Good mini-fridge. Plenty of interior space, keeps essentials cold and the freezer freezes.
I don't use the space designed for cans, but it's probably popular with other users, so I do think it's a useful idea.
We plan to keep it as a second frige downstairs when our kitchen renovation is finished upstairs. I'd definitely recommend this product to others...

Just bought this yesterday at the local Home Depot for our garage. The one we wanted wasn't in stock (cheaper price) so we bought this one.
When we took it out of the box, it had a dent on the top / side corner of it and the paint flaking. A little disappointing but we can deal with it. Also went to switch around the front door to open the opposite way. The directions were wrong on that (says use a 7/16 socket but actually is a 10mm) and the screw hole plugs are cheaper & break easy.
After letting it sit for a couple hours p/ the instructions, we plugged it in. It started cooling right away at full setting, but a couple hours later it started to make a low-toned rumbling noise.
24 hours later, we are satisfied with it for garage use. The beer is very cold now, and now have it set to "5". Overall, it's OK. But if you want this in a quiet area like a bedroom, family room, or dorm, try finding a different brand. Also, this wont work if you plan on making it a small keg-orator. The inside isn't big enough. Just an FYI.

I just bought this fridge, and I am returning it tomorrow. It looks nice and works well, but if you want something that isn't noisy, I would recommend going with a different model. I bought it for my media room, and I have spent quite a bit of money on the equipment in the room. So the last thing I want is a noisy fridge to disturb the nice sound when I am watching a movie. If you plan on having the fridge in a part of your home that you would prefer not to have the peace disturbed, then I would look for something else.
