I've been using these paint rollers for several years. Paint application is perfect every time. This roller is great for trimming, edging, and filling in all but the biggest ceilings. Because of its small size, there's less splatter and cleanup is quick and easy.
Pros: Even Application, Good Coverage

When I used this product the first time I found this product a “WooooooHooooooo!” product moment! (Or, call it a head slap, why haven’t I been using this before… moment.)
I bought them on a lark as “maybe” a fill-in option when the normal 9 inch roller wouldn’t do/fit and the area was a bit big for brush (and I really didn’t want the change in texture of brush to roller). I have used the short rollers that are the same diameter as the 9 inch rollers but rarely have found they really do the job. Not sure what it is… they just don’t get into the space any better than the 9’ and clean up of the roller handle makes them…a last resort for me to use… as I usually have a trim brush already wet so I just use it.
Here is what happened to me…
On a project for a client, I was working a small space and I had to get some of my tools out to make room….and I don’t know how it happened but my 9 inch rollers, handle and trays were packed up and taken back to home base … I was left facing a an 8’ x 6’ room and a 8’ x 10” room to paint… and I had brushes and these rollers and handle… The time to go get the normal 9 inch was…going to be about as much as what “I thought the extra time it would take to just use these small rollers would be”… OMG….was I wrong these rollers took less time than using a normal 9 inch roller!!!! These rollers hold a lot of paint!! (I do use HD’s best paint as it covers in one coat, when most others need 2 coats) I found I could paint maybe just a bit less than the normal 3’ x 3’ area in much less time with these rollers than the normal 9 inch roller, with less splatter. (My reference is this… With a normal 9’ inch you have to clean the paint specks off your safety glasses… with these rollers NO SPECKS on the glasses!... I’m talking walls not over head). Another advantage is the tray that holds the paint can be easily hand held… so I could move fast and easily up and down a ladder, along the wall and at floor level.
Oh….the edging button is amazing!! No more hits with the 9 inch roller open end messing up a wall.
With this product I found saving in; Time, Cost, Mess, Clean Up and saving of paint (the smaller tray meant that I tossed less paint out when tossing the tray (after pouring the tray back in the paint can) at the end of the project.
The clean up was less time and waste also! These rollers are about a dollar less per roller than the 9 inch. When the project is finished, just run your gloved hand down the roller into the paint can and toss the roller (a homeowner might want to take the time to clean the roller but… a homeowner won’t pay my rate for me to clean a roller). The handle is a solid rod that makes clean up, just a wipe down under hot water.
This product changed my paradigm of paint tools big time. I have the airless sprayer/power roller for big jobs. I will always need high quality brushes to edge/trim….but now I will go to these 6.5 inch rollers (the website calls them 6 inch) when I need a manual roller. I’m not ready to toss my inventory of 9 inch stuff….but not sure when I will need it…. time will tell.
Cheers,
Steve

These brushes are perfect for getting into the crevices of a textured ceiling or wall surface. Apply a little more pressure as you roll over the surface than you would otherwise do on a plain surface.
Also, consider adding a few tablespoons of water to every pint of paint used on the job. This will ensure that you obtain an even coverage and that you don't miss any spots.
One last thing, buy the Rollerlite contractor's pack. You will probably need it. Painting over Spackle is exhausting and messy. Being realistic the job might take a few days rather than just one. And, you won't want to reuse the roller brush because of the pieces of Spackle which become embedded in the roller as you paint.
Even with the Rollerlite--mini roller, it's still a messy job, because flakes of textured compound fly off the surface as it's being painted. I recommend a plastic (easy to clean) drop cloth to catch the debris. Also, save time at the end of the day for cleanup!
