This is by far the best drywall compound to work with. Ready for another coat in about 2 hours so no more waiting for 3 or 4 days for the compound to dry out before coating (especially on the deep fills or initial taping). Make sure you have a mixer for your drill because hand mixing is impossible to get the lumps out. Can be sanded as soon as it hardens but best to wait til next day for moisture to dry out or sandpaper will become gummed with moist dust. Sands very easily and I would say as easy as normal joint compound, even after fully hardened. You may want to mix it on the wet side as it tends stiffen slightly over time but still remains workable for at least 75 minutes.

I have been using premix for 15 yrs. Not sure why. I guess listening to the other guys made sense at the time. I had a job that the homeowner waited till the last minute to pull the trigger on some additional repairs. This put us in a time crunch. Needed to do all coats in one day and premix was not going to work.
I am not a novice, but not a pro drywaller either. I had no problem mixing, cleaning, applying, or otherwise with this product. Much less shrinkage than premix. Work time was one hour. Recoat was closer to 2 hrs. First deep fill took almost three to harden. Was able to go from corner to final in one day. I will reach for this from now on. I would not use for topcoat though.
Pros: Easy to Use, Performs Well, Easy to Install, Easy to Work With

Went with 90 over 45 for longer working time as I'm not experienced. Working time stated as 60, but does start to thicken a little much sooner. Definitely work in small batches. I probably could have gone with 45 with the 30 min work time, so consider going with that if you're unsure. Used the quick set for multiple coats repairing section of corner bead. Thin to consistency close to cool whip. Used the multipurpose premix bucket type for general wall repairs while waiting for quickset to dry. Again thin that, as it is too thick straight from bucket. Premix seems a little easier to work for final coat, so will be using that for my final coat on corner bead repairs. Any issues I had with quickset I attribute to my inexperience, so I definitely recommend when you need multiple coats and can't wait days for drying.
Pros: Easy to Use, Performs Well, Easy to Work With, Great Value, Easy to Clean, High Quality

This product is workable for 60 minutes, sets in 90 minutes, , and is EASILY SANDED. It sands similar to conventional premixed wall joint compound. It also shrinks less than the premix and can fill in greater gaps. DURABOND is the setting compound that is very difficult to sand.

Fine for first coat on tapered edge of drywall

If you are not a drywall pro then be careful with the drying type compound. It's great for first coating the tapered joints of drywall but unless you know what you are doing, be careful using it for butt joints. It drys quickly to allow you to use normal compound for second coat the same day but it is like sanding mortar if you apply too much so be sure your application skills are there before using it for anything beyond first coat tapered joints or small repairs because you'll be sanding for hours otherwise.
