This is my sixth Construction Master. First one wore out, after that drops, smashes and water have made me replace the rest. This is my fourth CM 5. The first three had a nice latching hinged case and and a latching hinged door to cover the manual compartment. When I purchased this CM5 I was dismayed by the fact that the case now slides off the back becoming two seperate pieces and then slides back over the front to protect the screen. When the cover is protecting the face the Manual compartment in the back is exposed to the weather. Also this new design is larger and doesn't fit in my pocket as well. I have considered the CM a valuable tool on the Jobsite and is still a valuable time saving asset, from now on only to be on my plan bench in my office. On the jobsite its back to a piece of wood a carpenters pencil and a concrete sliderule. Positive side is this one should last a long time. I would gladly have payed more money for a quality water resistant case. 5 stars for the previous CM5. 3 for this one.

This product is simple to use and can but incoporated into many application and trades. If your unsure of distance and conversion this product will set you in the right direction. When used for take-offs it come a little short in this area therefore 4 of 5 stars. The estimator version on this product would be an added bouns, if they could combine the two products.
Over all the product performs well and will help with all project. A must have for all trade/contractors.

If you work with fractional inch measurements, and need to calculate dimensions with fractions, this calculator is well worth having. It's easy to use, has an intuitive interface and perform common construction calculations. It performs conversions with ease, and has a protective lid that folds around to the back out of the way when in use. Nice product.

It does fractions!

Paid for itself on my first project. I seem to have trouble adding up fractional dimensions (accurately), which causes lots of waste.
My favorite features are:
- Fractional calculations
- Storage compartment for user manual
- Standard/Metric conversions
- Volume and weight calcualtions for concrete
- Fractional calculations

Having recently purchased the Construction Master 5, I am thrilled with the versatility of my new pocket brain. I have found this product is useful for not only my job, but my home needs as well.
The Construction Master 5’s cubic entry conversion feature has saved time and concrete. This equals money!
At home my 7th grade son feels like he has a jump start in geometry. Which makes me sure of my answers.
