738 sq. in. Wood/Charcoal Smoker

Outdoor grilling, smoking and barbecuing is a snap, thanks to the Char-Broil 738 sq. in. Wood/Charcoal Smoker. The front work surface, warming plate and lower storage rack let you prepare multiple dishes simultaneously. Delicious smokehouse flavors infuse your favorite foods as the top-mounted smokestack draws flavorizing smoke from the offset firebox into the cooking chamber. The included porcelain and charcoal/wood grates make it easy to grill in the firebox, cooking chamber or both.

Perfect for a fledgling smoker like myself. This little unit does what you ask it...especially when wood charcoal is used. Everything from brisket, all variety of ribs, turkey, beer can chicken, to pork butt...it'll do it up good. Then, when you need LOTS of grilling space, it's there. Catered a wedding reception with pulled pork and smoked brats with this, and the food got rave review. It's paid for itself many times over.
Yes, I recommend this product.

This is by far the best grill I have EVER owned...I mostly use it as a "grill" to cook steaks, burgers etc....and they always come out perfect and the secret is the size! I have had round grilsl in the past and could never find enough to room to cook my food correctly. This unit give you enough space to brown the food quickly and seal in the juices then move it to the other side to finish the cooking process like an oven. I have smoked ribs and a turkey as well and both came out great.
Unless you are some championship griller trying to feed 200 people this unit will work for you and do a great job for the price. I would put this grill up against any BBQ rig worth thousands and make a steak better than they could anyday.
Few tips I recommend:
1, Buy a charcoal chimney to start your coals and lay off the lighter fluid.
2. If you leave the grill outside get a cover for it.
Yes, I recommend this product.

This is my second smoker of this brand. My first was about 15 years ago when it was produced by the New Braunfels Smoker Company before Charbroil bought them out.
Frankly, the current model is not up to par with the former. Charbroil is using thinner gauge metal and the construction is not as tight. I'm having to put bricks on the door handles to keep the firebox and smoker doors closed, whereas the New Braunfels smoker's doors own weight kept them closed and there was no "spring" or warp.
Other than the lower quality construction - the smoker performs beautifully. This is a very affordable and useable backyard variety smoker that will give you years of enjoyment - although I don't expect this one to give me 15 years like the last one did.
TIP: Buy this model already assembled so that you can observe the details vs. just hoping the one in the box is okay.
Yes, I recommend this product.

This is a pretty good smoker/grill for the price. It is poorly made with thin material and was dented out of the box. It wasn't worth the time to put it back in the truck and get another one being it would probably be dented also. Other than that it grilled some chicken and ribs pretty well. It is great for a small back yard part time griller but not a pro.

My
uncle bought this exact unit a little over a year ago. So, I bought one
sine I liked it so much. Over this past year, they must have changed
the design... thinner gauge material, different design, poor
construction.
The con's: thin gauge material warped firts use, now door's dont seal;
firebox door does not stay open - poor construction; the finish
blistered off the firebox; shelf slanted terribly, cant put anything on
it.
I broke the unit in properly, oiled it inside and out, I lit a small
fire first night, a little larger second night, third day was the
smoke. Did a 9 Lb pork butt and a 12 lb brisket. The meat came out
EXCELLENT... so very delicious. Just upset about the drastic decline in
quality after 1 year.
No, I do not recommend this product.

This thing practicaly put itself together. All I needed was a case knife , adjustable wrench and a flat head screwdriver. The smoker made a perfect rack of ribs on my first try . I love this thing. never will I use a propane grill or smoker again.

Not Funny

Assembly was easy, but I have never had to use such a variety of tools to make it easy in the past. The engineer that designed this grill wanted to play a practical joke on the consumer. The grate for the small grill is just big enough that it is like a puzzle to put in or remove. The 2 pc grates for the large compartment are a bit to small and slides leaving a large gap in the center or on the sides. The lower grates leave enough room that you can almost add a 3rd pc. After one use I had to pry the side vent open with a screwdriver.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Handsome and Easy to Assemble

This is a good looking smoker/grill that I purchased for my husband for Father's Day this year. My daughter and I decided that the best gift would be if we assembled it for him...
It is very easy to assemble. All of the small parts (nuts, bolts, screws, etc.) are marked, so that when the instructions say to use 'such and such' you know what you're doing. It definitely helps to have a helper.
It took us shy of 2 1/2 hours to put it all together. Yes, that's probably longer than it would take someone else, but we had a good time doing it. Nothing about it was complicated, just that there are a lot of screws holding it together. And we wanted to make sure we understood what we were doing.
I can't wait to get a chance to use it and see what smoked ribs done at home are going to taste like! I know that he is proud of it. He said he needed a bigger grill... Well, he definitely has the biggest grill on the block.
Yes, I recommend this product.

This smoker is a great addition to any bar-b-que. If used with the hickory smoked chips it leaves foods with a taste some have never experienced. Meat is always juicy and tender-Never dry like you get with some gas grills.
