The mail box installed very quickly. Bought Stainless Steel bolts at HD to secure the box to the 4x4 rather than the zinc plated ones they supply you with. Getting a lot of good complements from the neighbors. Did not get the version that had the newspaper slot for our guy just throughs the paper out the car window and would never put it in the slot..

Pretty neat little addition to my house. I did'nt like the green so I painted it. Looks great! You would'nt think

Overall the Mail Master Villager Standard Mailbox is a good buy. It fits securely on a 4 X 4 post without any wiggle room. We used an existing metal in ground post to mount it, so we did not have to dig a hole for the post and it fix nicely. We used a 2 foot 5 inch 4 X 4 post instead of a 4 foot post called for in the instructions. This worked fine for us.
The short comings have to do with the included plastic panel that is designed to cover the exposed 4 X 4 on the non-street side of the mailbox. It doe not completely cover the 4 X 4. If it has been just a bit wider and a bit longer it would have done a nice job of completely covering the 4 X 4. However, there is some exposed 4 X 4 on the sides and top. Not much, but still there.
The other short coming is that there is no cover for the street side of the mailbox post which allows for the two included lag bolts to be exposed which makes it somewhat tacky looking with the exposed bolts. We've only had the mailbox for a couple of weeks, but if the bolts start to rust (too soon to tell) then the exposed bolts will be very unsightly. I think the manufacture could have put a little bit more effort in the design of these two points to have made a better product. Otherwise, the rest of the quality is top notch.

This was my solution to replace my mailbox that kept getting vandilized. It looks smart, not genic. It design looks like it can uphold to a beating. It was simple to install :) I now have the best looking mailbox on our street. Very happy with my selection.

This was a replacement for the old one just like it. Since I already had the post up it was install within 5mins. I love this product I had the last one for 10 years, but a tree landed on the old one, so glad I still could get this one, expect this one to last for a very long time.

This mailbox is very nice, appears sturdy, and I like the two-door entry. The only thing I don't like is that there is a green panel that hides the wood post which the whole thing sits on but the panel doesn't cover the whole area. If it hides the wood post then the top is showing which has a red square with a #2 on it - detracts from the appearance.

heavy duty, looks good, wife likes it so I got points for it --- only thing we don't like is the back cover that covers the 4" X 4" post is dark green like the roof, it should be the beige color that the base is to blend in NOT STAND OUT.
The instruction book even shows a matched color cover.

Bought this for our new house, the old box was knocked off its 4x4 post. This unit showed up after about a week. the shipping box was in bad shape but the product was fine. The unit is slotted in the back, meaning the post will show on the back side. I was under the impression this would slide over the post but believe this design gives a snug fit and am satisfied with it.
CON'S:
Wish the bolt slots came with covers. The stickers for your house numbers didn't provide enough to do both sides of the box. Our address uses multiple 9's and 1's so we were short a few. (This is a weak CON as having the stickered numbers with the box was a nice addition.)

I purchased this mail box to replace an old metal one and after reading all the reviews felt it would be easy to install. I was a little worried it would be too big, but, once I cut the old wooden post and slid it into place, attached the bolts, I was very happy. It looks great and even my neighbors commented on how nice it looked. Very satisfied.

I love this mailbox. It's the most unique and attractive one on the street. I have had several people ask where I purchased it. Even my mailman made a comment. I must tell you that to install it was a cinch. I had a post that housed my other one and all we had to do was saw part of it off and put the new mailbox on top and bolt it - 15 minutes max. I never thought I would get excited about a mailbox, but I am.
