Works well for the handicapped. The only down side is it's not a pistol grip constructed grabber.

This product is sturdy, easy to use, and comes in handy for more than one would think. I drive a suburban and cannot always reach to the very back of the area from the front or back. This extends the reach of one's arm so that items can be reached without moving or unloading the car. In addition, it will pick up the tiniest little screw without a problem. Papers in the yard, small twigs are a given. Pulling weeds from the back of a wide border against the house, is a cinch. I use it to avoid pulling out a step stool to reach the things on the top shelf of the kitchen cabinet or the top of the storage shelf in the garage. Just when one thinks something is unreachable, this little gadget can get it. I had looked at several other styles at the local drug stores and just happened on this one at the Home Depot while shopping for other items. None were as robust as this and many required the use of force that felt unnatural. It operates with a smooth, fluid motion that does not cause strain or discomfort even with long hours of use.

The short person's must-have. I tried another grabber and it was flimsy and couldn't lift anything. The Unger is sturdy, can lift full jars and large coffee cans, and it has a strong, slip-proof grip.

I bought this 3' Nifty Nabber yesterday, primarily to retrieve an object dropped behind a computer desk. It not only easily retrieved that object, but retrieved two other items 'lost' under a bed and was a great aid in wiring some peripherals through the computer desk. This is not a cheaply made gadget, but a precision made tool that will really come in handy. I will also promote it for some elderly family members, who simply have problems reaching objects on the ground. I wish Home Depot also carried the longer 51" version, which I'm looking for to retrieve items such as eyeglasses dropped into our swimming pool (a 'play pool').
