“SIMPLE, TOUGH, EFFICIENT”, the writing on the box, it is 100% true.
SIMPLE – an easy starting (with priming, too) and quiet engine + a sealed worm type gear box in a perfect match with the engine + two (in a heart bit removable) tines on both sides of the gear box (a total of four) driven by assuring sized shafts.
TOUGH – uprooting rocks (half the diameter of the tines) or bouncing off the bigger ones, cutting tree roots up to half inch in diameter or bouncing off the larger ones – no damage to the tines or stalling engine. There is no clumps of soil/grass to stand up to it either.
EFFICIENT-imagine having a hundred gophers at your service.
It is my first review and it is because of the FG110K1AT SN FAAA1345467 bought about a week ago. I used so far around the fruit trees and it is a beauty. I mark a circle around the tree, I place the tiller next to the line, I start the engine, and I commence tilling at high rpm going around the tree. As I come close to the trunk I reduce the speed so the tines will not go as deep as with the engine in high rpm. At this time of the year (February),despite being wet, it is a pleasure to rake the soil after tilling it with this little wonder. Read the instructions, practice by tilting forward/backward or pushing/pulling it and you will find out that it is not at all hard to control it. Have fun!
Pros: Easy to Use, Sturdy, Good Size & Weight, Durable, Powerful, Great Engine, Mulches Well, Small Turn Radius, Light Weight, Easy to Store, Long-Lasting, it is a beauty
Yes, I recommend this product.

I've owned other cultivators over the years, but this is the best I've ever owned. I love the fact that it's a 4 cycle cultivator, and there is no mixing of oil and gas like you find with other cultivators that might be cheaper. Believe me, this cultivator is definitely worth the price. It's easy to operate, and it's very durable. I've had mine for 5 years now, and it's still going strong. It's enabled me to have some of the most beautiful gardens I've ever had without killing myself weeding them by hand. I would give this product 10 stars if I could. I recommend this Honda cultivator to all gardeners. If mine should ever give out, I'll buy another one just like it. Yes, it's that good.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Size & Weight, Durable, Great Engine, Self-Propelled, Easy to Store, Long-Lasting
Yes, I recommend this product.

Bought this for my small home garden. I have a few small patches of dirt ranging from 4x20 to 10x10. I wanted to make my gardens ready for fruits/vegetables and didn't want it to take to much time. Obviously with a large rototiller it would be more of hassle. Then I found the Honda 110.....wow what a machine...you think to yourself....how could this small machine possible due much of anything but let me tell you it's just like the large heavy rototillers but lighter and smaller and yet it still turns up that dirt!
I always heard how good honda engines were but never really owned one and now I see what they say this this can be started with a slightest pull. It fits nicely in my shed and hardly takes up any room.
So this past week I let my neighbor borrow it so that he can start his garden and when he was done he told me how amazed he was on how well it worked *And this is his first time using such a thing! He liked it so much he told the wife he wants one for fathers day! lol.
So if your thinking about getting one for a small home garden do yourself a favor and by a machine like this.....it's one of the Top 5 purchases that I've made in a while.
Pros: Easy to Use, Sturdy, Accurate, Good Size & Weight, Durable, Powerful, Great Engine, Light Weight, Easy to Store, Long-Lasting, easy starting
Cons: none!
Yes, I recommend this product.

It was hard to start the first time. It smoked the first couple of times I used it but it was probably my fault I may have put too much oil. But it works great now, I love it its easy to start now and doesn't smoke. My garden looks great. Its about $100 to high for such a small tiller. But I am happy with it I just hope it last for many years. I rated it GOOD because I've only had it for about 2 weeks. Don't buy the ones that home depot leaves out in the rain! The one I bought was inside and I had to have the sales guy print out the manual. It says in the manual that it comes with oil but Home Depot must have kept it.
I would say buy it.

The FG110 is a pleasure to use. It is well designed and very tough. Because it is so light, it will jump on hard soil until it can get digging. It will easily dig 10"-12" leaving you with pulverized soil. I'm gardening in heavy clay. I'm so impressed with how this machine works, I couldn't wait to write a review. But understand, it depends on what you expect and what you need. I have a small garden (20'x20') so this tiller is perfect. I would have no problem going much larger with my garden and using this tiller. Traditional tillers are very heavy so they don't jump around, usually. The benefit of a tiller you can easily carry with one hand is something I like

I needed a smallish tiller/cultivator to renovate a 10' x 30' section of my Dallas area yard. This Honda chewed up the clumps of rock-hard clay with little effort on my part. It went on to mix amendments into that clay so smoothly that the resultant soil looked like landscaper mix in the expensive bags at garden centers. One caveat - the choke has three positions, fully open, partially open and closed. To prevent occasional stalling, I found that the partially open position was best. It allows the engine to run a bit richer and not bog down when under heavy load. In fact, there were times that the tines stopped turning but the engine was still trying. (Of course I backed off the throttle when that happened!)
Pros: Sturdy, Good Size & Weight, Powerful, Great Engine, Mulches Well
Yes, I recommend this product.

I purchased the Honda Gas Mini Tiller-Cultivator for my 79 year old father to replace an electric version that was too weak and a Troy Built that was too large for him to handle. The Honda started on the very first pull and ran perfectly throughout the project. The only negative which is minute was that the tines did not have a reverse to disperse the vines and larger materials that became tangled on the tines but the unit is light enough to pick it up to remove the entanglements. May not be quite what you need for larger corn and melon patches but worked great on the 12' x 18' raised beds from corner to corner without beating up the operator.
Yes, I recommend this product.

When the engine on my 5 year old FG110 froze up (despite fresh oil), I was devastated. This tiller is indispensable for me. It is more than a tiller. Besides tilling, I use it for edging and most of all, to turn my compost heap into beautiful soil. There was nothing to do but to buy another one. I was glad to see it basically remained the same as the old one. It was perhaps somewhat easier to start now. One light pull and it started. It possibly is also somewhat quieter. A great machine! No comparison with the Mantis that I owned prior to the first Honda. One unnecessary feature is the dragging stake and moving wheels. I have yet to use it with either tiller. I wish they would eliminate that and reduce the price by $50.

Yes, I recommend this product.

We bought this based on the reviews, and for the home gardener, its an absolute must have. Unpacked the machine, did a cursory read of the owners manual, added 10W-30 oil, added fuel, removed the transport wheels (which are very convenient) and away we went. The tiller fired up on the first pull which is not surprising considering its a Honda. We also own a Honda lawn mower and they just seem to build quality products year after year. The tiller takes a little while to get used to. The only con I have is that it needs a little weight on the blades. If the ground is dry and hard-packed, the tiller tends to catch on the hard ground and lurch forward so you have to hold on! Lots of power and will till right through small diameter roots and small rocks with absolute ease. I had it set to till 6 inches and this little thing digs in and does a wonderful job of tilling.Big plus is the 4 cycle engine, lots of power and no need to mix oil/gas. Very efficient and lots of power. No problems restarting the engine after breaks, refueling, etc...You will not be disappointed!

In the case of this tiller, size does not matter. I was apprehensive at first, only because of its small size. But after reading the all of the negative reviews of other, larger tillers, I decided to try it out. I am impressed. Though it is smaller than I'd like, I know I'll be able to get large garden plots tilled efficiently with this machine.
I will say that, working this boney NH soil, it does bounce a bit. I would imagine any tiller would in this soil which is full of large rocks. I've also had a few rocks get stuck in the tines, but they are easy to knock out with a shovel handle with no damage done to the machine. Again, I think this would occur with any tiller.
I know from years of experience that Honda products (especially engines) are the most reliable on the market.
Buy it. The price may seem a bit steep at first, but trust me, it will last for many years - thus making it cheaper in the long run.

Yes, I recommend this product.

When shopping for a small tiller, my husband said he only wanted a Honda, because of the quality of Honda products. I was happy to find the perfect one at Home Depot. He loves it and it has made his garden tilling and planting much easier than in past years. Our ground is hard to dig, and my husband is 84 and was having trouble handling the work, but the Honda tiller digs right in, making holes for tree planting and keeping the weeds out of the rows in the garden. He has no trouble carrying it around or tilling with it because of its small size. We will have a bountiful garden this year because we bought this tiller.

I was in the marked for a tiller and was looking for a reliable workhorse, easy to operate, start, and above all with a quality engine. Having had a Honda lawn mower for the last 25 years, snow blower for the last 20 both w/o any problems I thought I can not go wrong sticking with Honda. So far the tiller is everything I expected. Starts at the first pull, easy to operate, seams well made, is quite yet powerful, even with its comparatively small 25cc engine. Time will tell if its as long lasting as its older mates, but I think with a Honda engine the odds are in my favor.

I have owned - and worked to death - two brand-name mini tillers, and I was a little apprehensive about purchasing a 4-cycle machine. After using the Honda to till compost into a 500 sf bed (clay soil), cultivate a raised bed that was 3' in diameter and break sod in a new ornamental border, I'm glad that I did. Unlike other minis, this machine doesn't buck and jump around. The tilling depth goes to a full 8" and the cultivator tines are simple to remove for narrow rows and between-plant cultivation, something I've already done in my asparagus bed. The website says that assembly takes 15 minutes - it took 5, including filling the crankcase with oil, filling up with gas and priming the engine. It is a quick-starting machine as well. All in all, I believe this machine is a user-friendly workhorse and a great investment.
Yes, I recommend this product.
