DC14 Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner
The Dyson DC14 Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner features a wand that expands to 17 ft. at the touch of a button to help you clean hard-to-reach spaces such as stairs, window panes, high ceilings and underneath low furniture. The large-capacity, removable clear bin allows you to throw away accumulated dust and dirt without having to touch it.

OH MY GOSH! My husband & I were skeptical about spending so much money on a vacuum. We did a lot of research about Dyson products, read reviews & decided to make this purchase. We are amazingly pleased with this vacuum. It does everything and more + it exceeded our espectations. We can't believe the power & suction. Thought your home was clean before? Try this product and you'll wish you had made the decision sooner. LOVE IT.

I'm very happy with my Dyson vacuum. It has great suction and it is extremely easy to empty (unlike my older vacuums that required replacing bags or cleaning the filter frequently). I also like the "odorless" experience. The vacuum doesn't reject warm air, and is ideal for users with allergies. It comes with several handy attachments and is one of the few vacuums that are energy star rated. I used mostly canister vacuums in the past, so I do find this vacuum a little bulky and miss the power cord reel. This vacuum is well suited for large rooms, but needs a little getting used to in tighter spaces.

Our house has been through its share of vacuum cleaners - we have two dogs that shed heavily and both carpet/hard-surface flooring. We've even tried the ones that have special pet hair adapters....
I've been using the Dyson for about a month now and I am really impressed so far.
Benefits:
- Canister opens from the bottom when you press a button; helps keep the dust, hair, etc. contained
- Gets up every piece of animal hair on both carpet and wood floors
- Not very heavy, easy to lift

Cons (just to be fair):
- The wand takes some getting used to; a little awkward at first
- The canister isn't very large, so I have to empty it more often than my old vacuum

HOWEVER - the benefits definitely outweigh the cons on this one. I would absolutely recommend to a friend and anyone with pets.

I have had just about every vacuum cleaner you can name. I have had my Dyson since march and I wouldn't trade it for the world. I want to get one for my daughter. We have a peek /pom who sheds a lot and its just been wonderful. I use it constanty. Gets all he sand the grandkids bring in. Can't be beat.

I love this vacuum. Am somewhat embarrassed at how dirty my carpet was before. There's only one thing I don't like, and that is I can't get under the beds. Otherwise, I wish I would have bought one a long time ago.

I love this vacuum cleaner. I was shocked at the amount it picked up after just one swipe. My old vacuum cleaner wouldn't even have picked all the mess up with multiple swipes! I'll definitely buy another!!

I have been wanting a Dyson ever since I first used one at a friends house, and when I saw this one on sale, I bought it! I absolutely love it, and couldn't be more pleased! It works great and is so convenient to use, with the extension wand built into the handle, using attachments has never been easier! I'm so excited that I now own a Dyson, and never plan to own any other type of vacuum! And another great thing is there are no bags, and emptying it it is sooo easy.

This is our second Dyson and I thought the first one was over-priced for a vacuum cleaner, but if you want a quality machine that lasts a long time and cleans like it's supposed to, this is a good one. This Dyson works perfectly and the clearance (299) price was unbeatable!

This dyson was the best investment, I have 5 small dogs and used my oreck and loved it until i tried this one! I bought this brought it home..the night before the living room rug was done by my old vac. didn't look like it needed it but I wanted to try my new Dyson. What a shocker! I emptied the cylinder 2 times with a ton of dirt and hair that wasn't noticeable to me before. It pulls up the rug to the point of what it use to be when it was new...I was shocked and now i actually enjoy vacuuming just to see how much i grab up. To anyone whom is thinking of buying it...YOU won't be disappointed. I'm sold on this line. I didn't even get the pet dyson!

Keeping a white tile floor clean is next to impossible but this new cyclone technology sucks up all the annoying crumbs, etc in no time. The Dyson did such a thorough job on my carpeting that I could feel a difference walking barefoot after only one thorough vacuuming. I am a believer and wish I had bought a Dyson 20 years ago!

We bought this particular model because the price was right for a Dyson. ($299). The cleaning power is great, but the ease of use is lacking. I fight with the hose every time that I try to use it. I hate having to bend down to switch from carpet to hard floor, AND the machine has to be off to do so (or upright). While using the cleaning wand or hose, it's not easy to drag around the vacuum without turning the power on and off because of where the switch is located. The head is too big to fit under my kitchen cabinets.
The pros are that it has great suction and an easy to dump collection system. The hose also extends to be able to clean a flight of stairs with it.
I'll be keeping it only because it's better than our old vacuum, I think it will just need time to get used to the oddities.

Try a Dyson, and you will never go back! I absolutely love my vacuum. My parents had one, and when I moved out, I could not buy or use anything else! Even though it was not the cheapest, and being fresh out of college I am not swimming in cash, I absolutely did not hesitate for a second about making this investment. Especially at the close out price this vacuum has! It is everything you need and more, easy to use and has suction unlike anything I have ever vacuumed with ever in my life! HIGHLY recommend it!

Yes it works great!... But i dont know if it is really worth it.
I got them as gift. I am not too crazy about cleaning. But i manage properties and it reauires very broad range of cleaning knowledges and skills. I would give 5 for its tested quality!

but i gave 4 as a consumer.
it worked great ... and it is also very light considering the suction. it is amazingly user freindly and make lot of work easier.
But i expeceted lasting more than a year..
I guess it still works.. handle break very easy and it kills your suction because handle is another suction hose extension. i dont have kid and i am only 100 lb .. i dont break this kind of stub easily. i dont know how it just broke off and itis not something i could fix.

I consider vacumm very disposable appliances.. so i go easy on price... But thats me only!

I had another machine from hoover i used it for 3 years... suctions are not good as this and it is heavier. but... it still has great suction ability and never been broke..!!
I wouldnt buy it again.

Ilove love love my Dyson! (My cats not so much)
I have two cats and the first time I vacuumed my carpet I was sooo ashamed of all the hair and dirt that it got out of my carpet. My old vacuum was obviously not doing the job. I vacuumed again two days ago and there was not that much hair or dirt, and it had been about 1 1/2 weeks since I vacuumed the first time. It has great suction! My carpet looks new every time I use it! I thought I needed my carpets steamed cleaned b/c it looked so bad.. all it needed was the DYSON!

Very happy with our new vacuum so far!! The only problem is that our hair seems to wrap around the rotating bristles more than on our previous vacuum. The suction is great, though, and it's actually fun to be able to reach higher and clean the corners of the ceiling!

Of all the vacuum cleaners I have ever owned, the Dyson DC14 is the best. It does the best job of cleaning and is easy to empty. It is quite rugged and the way it was created you can basically take it all apart and put it back together again if something gets stuck.
My only complaint is that although the Dyson is very rugged, it still doesn't withstand kids. My children have managed to destroy vacuum cleaners and the Dyson hasn't escaped their wrath. If Dyson could make a model that doesn't have breakable plastic parts then it would definitely be worth 5 stars.
I highly recommend the Dyson DC14 nonetheless.

I needed a new vac cleaner and dreaded going and once again paying for nothing then coming home and trying to put it together for it not to work. The box said some assembly required. Strike one! I was surprised that the box wasn't terribly heavy. Lighter than a regular vac. Opened the box and there were 3 peices. AND GUESS WHAT! no tools required. Everything snapped together. I read the instructions completely and was surprised to find that the vac snaps inside and out on itself. No pull this off, put this over there, find this then do that. Its all right there. Snap out to clean drapes, snap back into place. OMG! Now for the true Test. When I went across the carpet once I noticed a difference in the nap, but when I went back over it again!! The nap is completely pulled up and looks nearly new. Emptying the chamber is again a snap. Put it back together and now for the final test. Turned the machine on and not one bit of dust at all. As a matter of fact it seemed that the air felt cleaner?? Now if it can keep this up for 5 years. Considering it came with a 5 year warranty. The filters are washable with a life time warranty and there are instructions to completely break the machine down to do extensive cleaning as recommeded after so many uses. Two things that made me a little uncomfortable. The machine itself seems to run unusually warm and the plug gets very warm too. Oh I must add this be careful because the suction on it is absolutely amazing and it doesn't discriminate against what its going to suck up LOL You look away for a moment and what ever was laying there is gone LOL I am definitely impressed and hope this time the money was well spent.

...and I've had 'em all. The Dyson lives up to its advertising and then some. The 18-lb weight had me a little worried, but it seems much lighter and is very easy to maneuver. Super-long cord allows me to vacuum the entire house with only one plug-in. And the cleaning power is incredible - I have 3 cats and need a good machine to keep up with them, and the Dyson more than meets the challenge. I also like the one-touch dirt disposal - no more gritty/dusty hands!
All in all, an outstanding product. I actually vacuum every day now. You couldn't pay me to do that before!
