"This dishwasher was a problem from day 1. Out of the box it had broken plastic parts on the racks. Replacement parts were sent, but after several rounds of replacing individual parts LG finally sent an entire new rack set, which solved the problem.
Everything was OK until about 3 months out of warranty (of course), when the dishwasher stopped working and displayed an "LE" error code. LG customer service told me that LE meant that the motor needed to be replaced. LG covered the cost of the motor, but I had to cover the cost of the service call: $106. After the motor was replaced, the unit was much noisier than before, but I was told that this was normal.
As it turned out the noise was a moot point, because within 10 days it stopped working again with the LE error code. This time I was told that in addition to the motor, they should have replaced the controller and the sump assembly. More bad news: the necessary parts would not be available for about 6 weeks!! After much discussion with various departments at LG, I finally ended up with a prorated buyback offer amounting to about 80% of what I paid, excluding taxes, delivery, and installation. Oh, and excluding the $106 I had just paid for the "repair" a few weeks earlier. But by this time I was just happy to get rid of the dishwasher.
Needless to say, this is my last LG dishwasher. If you do decide to buy an LG, my advice would be to purchase the extended service contract, and be ready to wash a lot of dishes by hand while you wait for parts and repairs.
The only upside to this experience is that I got to spend a lot of quality time with my family washing dishes....."
