Don't waste your money. Purchased house in April 29 2011, microwave didn't work, previous owners had to replace it...this is what they bought. Moved in 5/2011, used microwave until this week and it completely stopped powering up. No breaker box or fuse issue. Contacted GE, they will not honor the warranty because I don't have the receipt even though they show this specific serial number not being shipped out of their warehouse until March 2011 - proving it's less than 1 yr old. Customer service said "yeah its under warranty and we would replace it but without a receipt we can't do anything for you". Now we have to purchase a new microwave, but guaranteed it will NOT BE A GE.

We had purchased this microwave about four years ago. It stopped working a week ago. We didn't think this model was still being made so we purchased a "SALE" microwave from another store. On day one it was blowing the circuit. We returned it and bought a reconditioned microwave from another store. A relative knew we needed a new microwave and purchased one for us as a Christmas gift. To our surprise, it was this exact model again. We are so happy.
The first one was great and now no one in the house will need to learn the "secrets" to a new microwave. We have been used to how this microwave works and it has always been a great unit.
Very happy to have another one. If this one lasts as long as the first one, we would be delighted.

I don't normally write BAD reviews, but I have had such a difficult time with this microwave and trying to resolve the issue that I felt compelled to share.
I bought this microwave at a super price, it looked good, and was easy to use, for my 80 year old mother for her birthday. In the middle of the night 32 DAYS later, it gave a panel error and stopped working.
Don't worry about having a GE repair guy come out. I was informed by the GE Consumer Relations Dept. that they do not do repairs on this model. ALSO, I was given conflicting information on the "authorization to switch" option and will need to re-purchase another microwave until my "goodwill certificate" (i.e. rebate) came in the mail some 7-10 days later.
I will NEVER EVER buy another GE product. I should've known better when my GE refrigerator condensor kept going out. We bought an LG and everything has been perfect!
By the way, they wanted my 80 year old mom to haul this waste . Unfortunate for me, she lives in another city or I would definitely take it in.
In reading other reviews, I thought I was just that 1 in a million.......NOT!!
(BTW: This review is NOT a reflection of the service I receive of Home Depot which I highly recommend to others)

I am very pleased with this microwave. I had in mind a specific size that I couldn't find in local stores, and the info at the Home Depot website allowed me to zero in on the oven with almost the exact dimensions I needed. The buying process was easy and fast and the oven itself works fine, especially, it has several one-button functions that are super convenient.

I am very disappointed in this product. I purchased this microwave the last week of December 2010. The price was good and GE products were reliable or so I thought. It worked well until last night 2/10/11. As I was preparing to use the microwaver to reheat leftovers, it just completely stopped working, no inside light or any of the buttons were working. I checked the circuit box and the wall outlet. both were working fine. I just took this microwave back to Home Depo for a full refund and purchased a Magic Chef. Hopefully it will work longer than7 weeks!!

We have had this same model number for the last 6 years, and only two months ago has it begun to fail. It first began to read "sensor error", but continued to work fine until just today..and this was with daily use & abuse, and I'm ashamed to say, infrequent cleaning. There is no doubt we are purchasing the same model number and Home Depot happens to have it at the lowest price!

After searching for a while and having many constraints such as no online purchase unless the purchase is has free shipping and can be returned to a brick and mortar store, I settled on this model. From reading the GE reviews, I knew it was a risk. Many of the lower end models had issues with not working after just a few months and doors not popping out.
Well, it was true. My parents received the microwave and the door did not pop out when opened. They didn't even try to use it. They just returned it to HD. It took an hour b/c the system of buying online and returning at a brick and mortar store is new.
If you buy this product, you have been warned.

I gave this microwave to my boyfriend for father's day and he is loving it. I've used it at his place on numerous occasions and for the low price, you get a massive amount of cubic space. Thus fur, no problems. The machine is quiet and contains various useful sensors. Overall, a great deal for the price :)

I purchased this microwave in late July 2005. It died on May 2 2007. I tried calling the GE number in the instruction booklet and was told they no longer had technicians to help decide what might be wrong with the microwave. My only choice was to have a technician come from out ot town to take a look at it. At the current cost of service calls, it is cheaper to buy another microwave.....and, it will not be a GE.

We purchased this microwave and it worked fine for 11 months and 3 weeks and then the cooling fan went out. The product would still heat food but made an awful noise. I took the unit back to Home Depot and they said they could not exchange it so I had to call GE’s repair department at 1-877-434-3376. GE also would not replace it instead they sent a technician out to fix our $90 microwave. When the repair tech got here he did not have the parts so we had to wait another week for them to arrive and him to come back and install the parts.
Overall I guess it is OK because it does work; however, if it would have broke 1 week later we would have been screwed.
