The WELD-PAK 175HD from Lincoln Electric lets you take command of those projects that require some extra muscle. With its attention-getting 175 amps of output, this 208/230-volt wire feeder welder is powerful enough to weld mild steel up to 3/16 In. thickness with gas-shielded MIG wire and 1/2 In. with .045 In.nershield NR -212 self-shielded flux-cored wire. Best of all, the PRO-MIG 175 is essentially ready to plug in and use ? just add a supply of shielding gas for MIG welding on mild steel. If you want to weld with .035 In. self-shielded flux-cored wire on mild steel then say no more ? everything you need is in the box!

Weld Pak 175HD purchased to weld column connection plates for a small homeowner building. Product came with everything needed, first welds were good using the recommended settings and within a few test test welds we were making good penetration 1/4" fillet welds on tube steel and 1/4" plate. I'm a Mechanical Engineer that likes to build things and my grown son and I have lots of projects for this excellent tool. Finally, its a compact unit and has easy to understand controls. I would recommend this tool to anyone serious about a welding hobby or for small contractors working with steel. Now I want to try it on aluminum and stainless!

This is a fantastic welder, it is not only good for the at home welder, but it is also perfect for the professional. It is economical, easy to use, smooth operation, lightweight. You can carry it anywhere it is needed. Excellent price, the value is exceptional. I'm thoroughly happy with this welder and the value. I would recommend it to everyone interested in a welder.

I purchased this welder about a month ago from my local Home Depot. At that time, I also special ordered a cart, aluminum welding kit, and a .045 Innershied kit. I received the special orders in a timely manner.
The unit was very easy to set up. The only problem I had was that an o-ring was "notched" by a set screw as the wand was installed. Lincoln customer service was very apologetic and helpful and I received a pack of 5 o-rings in the mail within 5 days.
I bought this unit because I had not welded since Jr. High School. I'm 63 yrs. old and didn't think I could do much with a stick welder. This wire welder is great! Even I can use it. The chart on the inside of the access panel gives settings and supplies for various material types and thickness.
I've welded everything from pipe fittings and chain links to 1/2" plate. All of my project thus far have been with Innershield (flux-cored) wire. Gas is required for Stainless Steel and Aluminum. I'll get to that next.
I am extremely pleased with this unit and with Lincoln's customer service and highly recommend both.
