Wireless Remote Smoker Thermometer
The Redi-Check ET-73 Remote Smoker Thermometer lets you enjoy the delicious taste of smoker cooking without the hassle of constant trips to the smoker to check on smoker temperature and cooking progress. The wireless transmitter has connections for two included probes: a stainless steel food probe with 36 In. lead, and a stainless steel smoker chamber probe with 24 In. lead. The receiver also includes built-in count-up and count-down timers, providing all the information needed for perfectly smoked food. An alert feature allows you to program threshold temperatures for both the food and smoker probes, and alerts you with beeping and a flashing LED once those thresholds are crossed or reached. Four AA batteries are included.

No more running outside every half-hour to check my smokers temperature. No more guessing about being in the optimal temperature range. Now I am free to work on other things while my remote thermometer keeps me informed about both the smoke box temperature, and the meat temperature. The alarm features alert me to when the food is done, or the box is cooling down. I won't go it alone again.

This thermometer appeared to have all the bells and whistles needed to cook on the smoker and monitor both the meat temperature and the smoker temperature. You want to know that the smoker is at a steady temperature while the meat cooks and gets to the safe temperature.
Under rigorous trials, the thermometer worked perfectly for a while, but the smoker probe became unresponsive after several weeks of exposure. The left the thermometer half productive and not worth the investment.
I would recommend trying to find a better quality product that will perform correctly for a longer period of time.

I received this thermometer for Christmas and it works just great. I was able to set the smoker up and monitor it from the yard, the basement or the house. I could tell when I needed to stir the coals or when meats were done. It allowed me the flexibility to move around and not be stuck near the smoker. I would recommend this product to anyone with a smoker.
