I bought two of these for tubs in a couple of apartments I manage. They are in an older building, that had been "remodeled" into separate apartments. (Anyone in property management knows why I put quotes around the word "remodeled.") Floors in older buildings tend to sag and pitch in toward the center of the room. As such, if a tub is installed flat on the existing floor withoug regard for leveling, shower water will collect on the front ledge of the tub and run onto the floor, where usually there is a corner formed between the tub and the wall. There it pools, runs into the ceiling below, rots the subfloor, etc. etc.
I installed two of these splash guards, one in each apartment. They installed easily, because I planned ahead and made some pencil marks where the adhesive-backed base was to go, along the outside tub shelf and going up the where it meets the tub. I say plan ahead, make some marks and do a "dry run" before removing the covers off the adhesive-backed base, because you get but ONE chance to position the splash guard correctly: the adhesive holds tenaciously. Follow up with some white silicone caulk along the inside of the base and the verticle piece , (as much as for aesthetics as for some added water-proofing insurance,) and the water-runoff problems are solved.
The spash guards are white and nicely designed aesthetically, and blend in nicely with any white tub.

Does not provide a watertight seal

No, I do not recommend this product.
I followed the instructions carefully. However, after putting it in when testing with water splashed on it from the shower head I immediately saw water seeping around the guard. The splash guard comes in two pieces - a horizontal base section and its vertical attachment. Water seeped through right in the corner where the two pieces met and after a few minutes it seeped through under the base in several spots. I had been diligent in cleaning the surfaces with alcohol as recommended by the manufacturer. I was able to seal it by applying some clear bathtub caulking along all the edges and especially in the corner.

No, I do not recommend this product.
Had a hard time getting it flush with the wall, had to use lots of caulk to fill in the gap. A level shows the wall too be straight.
