"This Fridge is actually made by GE, with the proprietary label "Americana" just for the Home Depot. The nice part about this fridge is that you can buy optional equipment from the home depot website if you know what you are doing. If you select "GE" as the brand you can find the cover for the dairy compartment in the door, and the rack for the freezer. If you feel the need you can even buy the separate drawers for the bottom of the refrigerator, as the current setup has the center track to support them.
The fridge itself is very quiet, and it has encased parts so you never have to climb underneath it to vacuum out dust and disgusting messes like the old fridges. Its very aesthetically pleasing as well...featuring molded door handles, clean white ABS plastic that does not stain easily, and powder coated steel racking that is not quite as nice as glass...but for $400 dollars, the fridge is quite remarkable.
I was able to use a coupon in July and have the credit promotion extended from 6 months to 12months becuase a few days later that changed...HD credit services has always been good to customers in that way.
The only thing that I would say is a "Negative" blemish on this fridges review is that it didn't come with the Diary Enclosure OR the freezer rack...this perplexed me at first as the manual that comes with it specifically says "(Not included with all models)" next to the ice maker parts...but just gives install instructions for the "Dairy Door" and "Freezer Shelf" leading one to believe that these items were supposed to come with the fridge...especially since it is quite evident that they are missing.
I would recommend this product to others because its yearly operation cost is estimated at only $48 dollar per year AND is quite spacious. As a single person, its a little more than I need...but for a small family of three, its probably perfect.
If one is not concerned about finances, they should upgrade to a better appliance that features the above missing accouterments, plus many additional ones."
