16 In. Electrically Reversible Window Fan

The LASKO 16 In. Electrically Reversible Window Fan circulates air through up to 3 rooms. The Storm Guard feature makes it possible to close the window behind the fan during inclement weather and for security when you're away. The fan fits windows sized 26-1/2 in. L x 34-1/2 in. W x 22 in. H and includes side expander panels for a custom fit. Electrically reversible motor changes air flow with the turn of a dial.

I ordered 3 of these fans and they are great for being able to close your windows in inclement weather. Also being reversible is a good feature. What they need to improve on is the control knob. I have stripped out the knob on 2 of the fans so far and am not pleased about that. I now have to baby both of those knobs to make them work.

I purchased this to cool my apartment in the winter, that tends to bombard me with heat, that I have no control over. It's not unusual that it gets to 85 degrees in my apartment. Opening a window does nothing if its not really windy out - the cold air stays outside, the hot in. This fan certainly does the trick, cooling down a large living room in mere minutes. I would have given it 5 stars, but I was hoping an advertised feature would work, whereby you could shut the window behind it when necessary. Unfortunately, if you have a newer style window with a "lip" to grab to open or close it, its impossible to fit it in the slots provided. Still works great otherwise.

We purchased two of these. One was fine, the other suffered from the problem other reviews have mentioned....noise and reluctance to run at low speed. Handy hubby took it apart and discovered that the motor bearings had never been lubed as they should have been at the factory. A little cleaning and some high heat Teflon oil on the bearings and now it is eager to run slowly and quietly.

We had tried several smaller "double" fans in our kitchen window to help vent while cooking (1000 sq ft apt in NYC) ... This one is larger and has one very strong fan.
We've used it for 2 months and love it. Also a plus is the removable guard, so that we can clean the blades when they get dusty or gunked up, but still to early to tell how easy that will be.

The fan worked well enough on medium and high speeds but at low speed, in both intake and exhaust settings, there was a very loud, low frequency noise. This did not appear to be due to vibration but something within the motor itself. The fan was fairly quiet on the other two speeds so it may be acceptable for those who want maximum air circulation.

I bought this window fan two years ago , I use it as an exhaust fan. in the summer when it begins to get cooler outside I open two windows on the oposite side of my house and turn the fan on and it pulls the cooler through the house, I can feel a breeze. Works much cheaper than air conditioning. I love it so much I bought two for Christmas gifts.

I bought this fan for a spare room for guests of my house to smoke cigarrettes in. It's easily installed and permanently screwed into the inner window sill. Very simple to raise the window behind it and turn the fan on "HIGH" in "exhaust" mode. It's very powerful and sucks all the smoke out of the room before it has a chance to get to the rest of the house. The smoke doesn't have time to settle into the walls or furniture or carpet either, you can actually feel the breeze in the room being pushed to the fan. When the smoking room is "not in use", you can't smell a trace of cigarette smoke (I'm a non-smoker so I can sense even a little smoke smell when it's there - trust me it's not there). Very powerful, very easy to install and use, worth every penny. Buy this fan, it's much stronger than the smaller ones with dual fan blades that are priced about $20 cheaper. Spend the extra money and buy this fan, it's worth it.

I purchased this fan to exhaust cigarette smoke in our garage. We have an adult son, lost his job, moved home, now in school (and working in his field of study) and is a smoker. He cannot smoke in the house but does in the garage. The garage has a door opening into the kitchen and smoke would come in every time the door was opened. We installed the fan a few weeks ago and no longer have the problem.
I had to read through many reviews before I found one addressing a similar problem. Problem solved.

I received the fan and it was broken, returned and now the second fan does not run on low speed. The price is great . I use medium and high, it moves quite alot of air.

received this product quickly, original package is not strong enough, ups guys almost break the fan while in transport.
fixing in the window is easy but need some thinking as to how to fix it to the window secured. running the fans is easy and it is quite quiet and efficiency, take only short time to fresh up your rooms. if lasko have similar fans with smaller size like 12" I will happy to buy.
