Massive Fridge,
March 18, 2007
By Nwhitney

"Got this Maytag after our '82 model bit the dust. Old fridge was a side by side and we wanted something that you could see all of the food in. This Bottom Mount Freezer was just want we needed. There is almost nowere that you can hide something in this fridge and not see it. Deli drawer is nice for lots of big stuff other than just deli trays. Beverage holders on the door makes getting a drink much easier. Freezer holds a lot more than you would think...I think it holds more than our old side by side. If I had to do it again I would not change a thing. Quality seems to be very good. Good fit and Finish on inside and out."

Great Refrigerator,
February 24, 2008
By MountainMom
from Signal Mountain, TN
"I love this refrigerator. The French door option offers so much more room than a side by side. And having the freezer drawer on the bottom, your refrigerator items are at eye level. No more bending over and searching for hidden items. I also like having the milk storage in the door so that the gallon jug isn't taking up a huge amount of space on the shelves. The sliding drawers in the freezer really help utilize full capacity of the space and you don't have items falling out on top of you! The only disappointment with this appliance is the door front ice maker. Apparently, ice maker technology hasn't surpassed the original design of the turning coil mechanism. This seems to "pop out" of it's fitting every other use and you have to open the ice maker and reset it. I probably wouldn't buy that option if I could go back. But the refrigerator itself is well worth the purchase."

Worth the money,
October 15, 2007

"We've had this appliance for over 8 months, and no problems (with the exception of a feisty water dispenser that shoots water out vigorously, so you must have your container aligned properly BEFORE pressing on the lever; same with the ice...it can fly out!) so far. Lots of shelves, well-filtered water, and love the freezer space! Beautiful in the black finish, and we love the wide deli drawer for school-lunch-making supplies. Adjustable shelves very convenient, as well. Could have a bit deeper well under the water dispenser, but that is extremely minor compared to the big-time features that make this refrigerator worth the money."

Love our French Door fridge,
August 29, 2007
By lf4tune
from Chatsworth, CA
"We've now have owned this fridge long enough to use and abuse it, pay off the loan and know its good (and a few not so good) points. First we love it and (hopefully) the money it is saving in energy. Well thought out product and good looking too. I've changed out the water filter for 1st time and it was a snap! My wife has enough room and adjustment options to organize everything in there (of course that gets me in trouble for putting things in the wrong spot.)
And she loves the French door design.
A few cons to go along with the good: 1) the bottom plastic trim is easily kicked off and I seem to hit it weekly - maybe my big feet, but annoying. 2) The bottom (full across) meat & cheese drawer cover seems to go caddywampus on occasion and can be a trick to put back, but so far I haven't broken it. 3) Replacement water filters run 35 bucks, ouch - but I have to admit they are really easy to take in an out, and you don't have to move the fridge away from the wall to do so.
ALLIN ALL the minuses are minimal and both my wife and I agree that we would and will continue to recommend this product.

DONT BUY IT!,
February 8, 2007
By CMIKEL
from COLORADO SPRINGS, CO
"I bought my maytag ice2o refridgerator from home depot 8 mos ago. Loved it when I got it, but soon after had problems with the ice maker. they replaced the ice maker. Now the ice maker is still having problems. Its not strong enough to break up all the ice. the ice cubes freeze in big blocks causing the system to clog. Last night the thing took on a mind of its own. All the lights are flashing on the control panel, the ice and water maker dont work at all. The flap is constantly opening and closing all on its own, constantly making a clicking noise all night long. Finally we had to unplug it so we could get 4 hours sleep. Plug it in this morning and its still doing it. My biggest concern is what happens after the warrenty runs out. I already know this thing has mechanical problems. Did I get a lemon or is it junk?? Either way Im stuck with a $2,800 refridgerator that seems like it has bad engineering. ..."

Best Maytag yet!,
January 21, 2007
By Coladiz
from Edmond, OK
"We had to buy a new fridge and were sure we wanted the ice maker water feature. We chose the maytag and just love it, got great value for our dollars and it's very user friendly. The kids can easily access it, which means it's easy to navigate through no matter what size you are. It's also very esy to clean which makes it even better. I hope it lasts forever, if it doesn't I will by another just like it!"

"This is a nice refrigerator, but it has a couple minor problems that some may find annoying. First, for a large family (5), the ice bin is entirely too small. We have to buy ice on a regular basis because the ice maker cannot keep up. Second, the big drawer on the bottom for deli is nice, but when hands are full, and unable to open both doors, you cannot get into that drawer. Lastly, I have had this refrigerator for 3 months and today I went into the kitchen to find the control panel completely black. For some reason it stopped working. Maytag was great about getting someone here to look at it, but the parts are backordered and it could take 10-14 days before the refrigerator is fixed. After I complained about the length of time without a refrigerator, Maytag was not helpful at all. Very disappointed with their resolution. They stated that in my manual they were not responsible for spoiled food or inconvenience. Too bad I didn't get the manual before I bought the item. I will say, Home Depot has been fantastic in helping to resolve this issue. Thank you Home Depot. Maytag, I will not purchase a product of yours again."

Maytag French Door Bottom Freezer Refrigerator,
June 11, 2006
By Terence
from Gary, Indiana
"After visiting the Home Depot store located in Portage, Indiana, this freezer gave me a cold front. The two features that I liked on the Maytag refrigerator the most were that it had a door ajar alarm and that the shelves elevated up and down. Can you imagine these features for the little crumb snatchers who want food out of the refrigerator and then leave the door open."

"From the ordering process to the delivery, installation and the use of the refrigerator has been excellent.
Especially the delivery men who had pointed out minor dents and recommended returning the product. I did, and then received a new one promptly.
