I have used my CoolDaddy several times over the past couple weeks and enjoy the ease with which I can make french fries or small meat pastries. Last evening I fried 4 pieces of chicken and it turned out great. The temperature control allows me to have fried foods that retain much less grease compared to using a skillet. The instructions recommend that grease be strained when necessary to remove particulate matter from batters and such. This can be a labor intensive and messy affair, depending on how you do it. Have a supply of cheesecloth available to do the straining.

Excellent buy. Very easy to set up. Just insert the oil bucket, add oil, plug in and it's ready to use. DOES NOT HAVE A POWER SWITCH, so make sure that if you plug it in you have oil in the bucket. The power cord is short to reduce the cord clutter; I like that the cord attaches in the back of the unit with a magnet, this is to prevent accidental pull of the unit if someone gets tangled up. The lid is removable for easy cleaning. The oil bucket is also removable for easy cleaning, this is very nice. Just add oil and plug in. The basket is nice and large. I close the lid during warm up time, and add the food to the basket over my kitchen sink. This prevents any excess crumbs from dropping into the oil and keeps it 'cleaner'. After the oil is nice and hot I insert the basket and first close the lid. And only then lower the basket into the hot oil. This feature is very nice because it prevents platters of the hot oil. The viewing window is a little too small, but adequate, but it does steam up and makes it hard to see the food. Overall, this is a very nice unit, easy to use, clean and store.

I love the removable bucket and the design of the handle. It heats up quickly and deep fries wonderfully. This was to replace an old West Bend deep fryer. The removable bucket makes emptying and cleaning so easy.

Another non expected HD Online buy but fast cheap shipping and this thing works great stays cool, fries a huge amount. Highgly recommend was moving on up from a 10 yo fry daddy which worked one chip at a time.

This a fantastic fryer!!! Very easy to use, very "cool" and I feel that the way it is set up keeps it very safe. Cleaning the product is fairly easy, if there was only one thing that I would do is buy a funnel so that you can easily empty the oil.
Great, simple instruction manual with a couple of good recipies. If you are looking for a stand alone fryer, look no further, you have found your fryer!!
