Product idea is great. Both functional and attactive. Problem I incurred was with the packaging. The box is a bit large, and not put into an outer carton, I ordered the unit the four times to finally get a a good unit. and on that unit there was a broken part that I couldn't tell from where it came. But at least the unit appears to be working ok.
If only the packaging was improved. Otherwise a very good product.
Yes, I recommend this product.

When considering a space heater for my 2-car garage and shop area, safety, economy, and maintenance were my top considerations. That is why I purchased the Procom 30K BTU, Vent Free, Blue Flame Space Heater (Natural Gas in my case). Between the constant drafts from an unsealed eve along the roof and the draft along the 2-car door, it can transform my shop work area from a frosty 25-degrees to a pleasant 55-degree work area in under an hour. The thermostat will shut off the heat at 55-degrees since my intent is not to make the garage a living space.
Safety First:
Choose the safety of the Blue Flame over the yellow flame because of the 99.9 % efficiency. While this certification standard and technology cost more, I would not consider any alternative. These models come with a low oxygen indicator and do not require a match to light. In my case, we will use the thermostat to regulate heat. In the garage shop, we want to keep the temperature above 50 degrees during the winter. This is an open ceiling and between the garage car door, the outside door, and the draft all along the eves, there is plenty of fresh cold air drafting around the place. The 30,000 BTU easily does what no ten electric space heaters could do. There also is not the odor or smoke produced from kerosene heaters.
Cost Savings (Natural Gas vs. Electrical space heaters):
The Metropolitan Utility District Omaha, NE sells both natural gas and electricity and has the following cost for space heaters. Assume that both produce the same heat (40,000 BTU) over 1,000 hours (8 hours a day for 6 months) which is about twice my usage:
Natural Gas - $ 463.38 a year
Electric - $1,217.95 a year
Since my plans include 500 hours a year, I expect to save about $350 each year in utilities cost.
Installation Savings:
In my case, my garage only had 20 amps of electricity available. To plug in 6 electrical space heaters (each use 10 amps of electricity) it would have required me to upgrade the central fuse box, new wiring, and even my electric meter. The estimate was around $5,000. A gas line was available inside my garage. I found all the parts at my local Home Depot and was able to do most the work myself.
The county permit cost me about $20.00.
The flexible gas hose, pipe, gas valve, and wall flashing totaled around $65.00. Screwdriver and pipe wrenchs are the primary tools.
For any space heater (gas or electric) always purchase a smoke detector. Also, for any garage (especially with a shop), a carbon monoxide detector is absolutely necessary.
Considerations and Safety:
A drafty garage is not a bedroom, basement, or living area. Un-vented blue flame space heaters are great for partly enclosed drafty areas. I would not consider kerosene or other open flame heaters inside a garage due to the additional pollutants and smell. For enclosed areas in your house, I suggest that you choose the more expensive heaters with both fresh air supply and exhaust vent options. Even for professional central heating systems, I suggest that you always install both smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors and check them twice a year.
Yes, I recommend this product.
