15-Pack - 3/4"x26" Round Baluster Black with Fastball

These balusters can be used with wood and composite railing systems. They offer the look of wrought iron at a fraction of the cost and are more durable than wood balusters. Easy to install and maintain. Conveniently packaged in packs of 15, the recommended quantity for a 6ft. on-center handrail. Expected to last 10+ years or will last the lifetime of the deck.

No, I do not recommend this product.
These balusters are ok for railing that is straight across but are a pain to install on stair railing. I have had them on my deck for 2.5 years now. I have had to replace the hand rails that had these balusters installed on them. They fall out as the wood expands and contracts with the hot and cold weather. When we installed them they looked great and fit tightly. After about a month we started having problems. The problem is they just float in between the railing. As the boards shrink in heat the balusters become lose and fall out. When you buy your deck lumber, make sure you let it dry out in the heat before cutting and assembling the deck. This won't fix the problem with these balusters though.

Bakusters work great with a simple modification

These balusters are excellent for creating an open view through your deck rails. They are easy to install.
One thing they do not do is provide any structural support, and they require the spacing between the wooden rails to be uniform. On my deck, the wood rails were slightly bowed and some of these balusters rattled since they were not held tightly in place in the bowed section of the rail. This problem was easily fixed by adding a threaded metal rod inside the baluster in the middle of each 6-foot rail section. This pulled the wooden rails together, held the balusters tightly in place, and added much more strength to the railing.

I saw these balusters on a friend's deck. I had to do the same. These round powder coated balusters made a great deck project look even better. Delivery was quick, and product was packaged very well. Easy to assemble with two people for long runs, or a single person can manage short rail sections.
Overall, I'm impressed,as are the people who have seen this product on my new deck.

I want to let others know how nice the ballusters we bought are. They were easy to install and are much more pleasing to the eye than the old wood ones we had. The fact that they are aluminum is GREAT for us as we live in AZ and they can handle the hot weather. NO more painting and priming every year. Thanks home depot for making them affordable!
