This took my friend about 20 min to install (he did not
replace the sink part since my old one was good). This is so quiet you would not even know it is on. Minimal noise and vibration, and it grinds up everything very well.

The disposal was purchased when we remodeled our kitchen and decided to go with quiet appliances. We chose this disposal because it was rated the quietest available in the store. It has a two speed motor and is in a contained case. It is awesome. It is so quiet that you can't even tell it is on. We think it is great.

Easy to install, (less then 30 min.), It's very quiet, I had move the sink baffle to hear it. Grinds up every food item so far with no problems. I have been using this for about 3 months now.

Just installed so hope it lasts. Easy install as I was replacing an InsinkErator from 1979. It is quieter than I expected. Looking at the Badger series InsinkErator reviews I was a little hesitant that their quality may have slipped. Right now I am happy. I can hardley tell when it is on.

I've only had the unit a couple of months now but it seems to be working fine. It has handles all that I have put down it so far (no chicken bones yet) much quiter than the one I owned previous to this one. it was fairly easy to install but I am a DIY kinda guy.

I have only had the disposal in use for about 2 weeks so it's hard to say anything about its long term value or performance. That being said, I believe it was a great purchase and am satisfied.
My 17 year old Badger disposal died after eating too many noodles. The new unit is more powerful than the old. I chose to purchase this more powerful/expensive unit because there were so many negative reviews for the lower end units. It has a longer (4 year) warranty.
This unit is called "compact" but it really doesn't seem all that small to me. It takes up more space than my old one did, mostly in girth. And it was HEAVY; we used a stack of books to hold it in place while attaching it.
The instructions are clear and thorough. Replacement would have taken less than 20 minutes if I had used the old "quick lock" assemblies that held on my old disposal. With the quick lock you basically unscrew the old disposal and screw on the new one. But the assemblies were 17 years old, and gross, so I chose to replace them with the new ones.
I would say the project took about an hour to complete. Tools required were minimal. I chose to reuse the cord from my old disposal. Although the kit came with new pipes I used most of the existing ones because they lined up better with the other plumbing.
The disposal is incredibly quiet and operates smoothly. The first time I used it I thought it had a little bit of a vibration or a "thud" to it when I turned it off. But in subsequent uses there is no problem. Overall I am liking this product.

As a property manager, the best strategy is to buy high quality items such as this compact disposal. The tenants are aware of the high level of care provided and in turn, they take pride in their home. Just wish HD would offer installation of this item.

Excellent machine. Powerful and yet quiet. I love that you can easily remove the black sink guard to see down the drain and retrieve items easily. Beware:It doesn't come with a power cord though.Be sure to order one with it.

The headline "Power of a Mack Truck but with the noise of a Prius" says it all. The unit went in easily with a little creativity and a few elbow PVC pieces, but once in this disposal performs like a dream.
Also unless you have tons of room under your sink, or really need that extra 1/4 Hp I would recommend this unit over the much larger 1.0 Hp unit.

I had a handyman put this in and it went in quickly and has been working beautifully for about a month so far. It is very quiet when we operate it. My husband commented that when it is running it sounds like our old one did when it was jammed (quiet buzzing noise).

Product was easy to intall, comes with all the fittings you need except for a cord. The first time i used it i thought it was broken becasue it is very very quiet. No problems at all handling everyday garbage, i haven't tried any chicken bones or anything though.

I purchased this to replace a 10-year-old leaking unit. I wanted a quality unit but still fairly small and light so that I could install it myself. (I am a 59-year-old woman). The installation was easy. I used a stepstool to hold it up so I could rotate it into the existing Insinkerator mounting bracket. The power cord on the old unit was corroded and unusable so I was glad I bought the power cord kit, which was also easy to install. The performance is great. It grinds quickly and very quietly. I could hardly hear it running. I also like the fact that the sink baffle is above the sink flange so it can be replaced easily. This unit is a winner!

I bought the InsinkErator Evolution Compact to replace my old InsinkErator that AFTER 20-YEARS of service had sprung an upper body leak. I checked with the toll-free service people; they said the new unit would swap right into place and it did. But ...
The last installation steps are to lift the new unit in place, line up its lower locking ring with the mounting ring on the sink flange, and turn the lower locking ring until everything locks together. [I think that these steps might work with the tools recommended on the box, if you had three people: one to lift and hold the unit in place, one to look through the sink flange to check the alignment there, and one to lock everything together.] After more than an hour of trying it alone and failing, I called the toll-free service people again.
The service people suggested supporting the unit with phone books, which is what I'd been trying to do. Then they suggested using a car jack. Fortunately the screw-and-pantograph-mechanism jack that came with our Escort did the trick. This time it took only about 15 minutes to lock the unit in place.

This new disposal is so much quieter than my old InSinkErator that I thought it wasn't running at first and perhaps I hooked it up incorrectly. Nope, it is just that quiet. It uses the same old fashioned bracket to connect to the sink drain, so it is very easy to install if you have an old InSinkErator. You don't even need to remove the bracket, so no plumber's putty or anything, just snap the old one out and snap the new one in, then reconnect the hoses.
