This is the 4th and most recent Hunter fan we purchased. They look good, work great, and operate in absolute silence. Going with Hunter again was the perfect choice for our new addition.

couldn't see a way to edit previous but I wanted to report I returned it after all for a Hamton Bay for previously mentioned deficiencies in the Hunter mount..
pictures included for comparison..
Hunter on the left - square plastic block just 'sits' in square bracket..
Hampton Bay on the right - steel brace bolts to metal ceiling bracket with studs and nuts..
I'll admit the Hunter motor is visbly larger however they are both rated for 5000cfm..
'Low Profile' is also a farce.. the Hampton Bay Carriage is exactly the same overall height and includes light kit for HALF of the price! We were looking for low profile without the light so I called the number in the booklet today and King of Fans is sending the blank cover - GRATIS.. only have to pay shipping..
bottom line.. Hampton Bay will receive a much more favorable review for above reasons..
No, I do not recommend this product.

bought this Hunter for its low profile mounting..
the fan assembly wobbles, not necessarily out of balance but the square plastic motor mount just sits loosely in the square cutout in the metal ceiling bracket.. the whole motor/blade assembly is just sitting in the bracket like a marble on a table top.. just pulling the chain and it tilts up.. I called Hunter to confirm their instructions regarding the 'tension' screws that do not actually engage the plastic therefore do not lock the motor mount solid to the frame and the rep said that was 'normal'.
during high speeds it moves around slightly, not enough to cause concern but it's annoying by comparison to the other fans we have that are solid and smooth..
also do not like the large gap between the canopy bezel and the ceiling (1/4" at least).. this is caused by the rubber feet thickness on the top side of the metal ceiling bracket.. I'm sure it would fit closer to the ceiling without the feet installed but given the 'loose' mounting, it would probably gyrate and take flight..
probably will end up returning.. compared to the three Hampton Bay fans we bought for this house that are all mounted solid and run smooth and quiet, this Hunter does not live up to my perception of their reputation..
I will be more selective as to not purchase another Hunter fan with a mount of this type..
gave it three stars because Mrs. Bee likes the color which is also important..
No, I do not recommend this product.

Our low ceilings made it nearly impossible to find the right fan for our room. We went to a bunch of stores, and couldn't find the right one. This was perfect. Although I was concerned to purchase since we didn't see it in person, it was just as described and works great. Now we can sleep at night.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Fan took time to pick up the speed and for this type & size of fan the air provided is extremely slow/weakd . The motor does not show power & does not provide adequate air. Fan does not work well . Very disastified with it.

Very quiet fan which was fairly easy for my husband and myself to install. However, it was missing 3 screws-my husband went to store for two and we had an extra in our own supply. We have only used it a couple of times since we installed it so I can not make any comment about long term use. Overall very satisfied-we had quick delivery, looks good. Really appreciated room size recommendations-I now realize our previous ceiling fan was too small for our room.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Ordered the fan online based on sales clerk recommendation at the local HD store. Had the fan installed this morning, just in time for the heat and humidity to pick up. With 7 foot ceilings in the bedrooms, it's just right for safe clearance. Whisper quite motor is terrific and creates a nice breeze in the room (12x12).
Yes, I recommend this product.

This fan is a breeze [pun intended] to install. I had to replace some 20 year old "other brand" ceiling fans. This model went from box to operational status within 20 minutes.
The three speeds and motor reversal control offers a nice range of air flow options.
The fan out of the box did not require the blades to be balanced. I suspect this is also due to the way the ceiling mount was installed.
The fan runs smoothly and quietly! I did not install any light kit.
I used the Milwaukee 0490-22 power screwdriver. I preset the torque to 4-6 and found it ensured the mounting screws for the fan blades were all the same tightness. I also used the same tool to ensure all other screws were properly and "evenly torqued" I suspect this also effects the fact the fan runs so smoothly and quietly. I used a Ridgid 18v impact driver to ensure the mounting screws are properly installed in the rafter 2x4 mounting.
finally you can't ignore the Hunter brand's quality! They do ceiling fans right! and although you may be tempted to buy the cheaper brand, rest assured the extra spent on the Hunter fan is worthwhile.

I recently renovated a attic space into a master bedroom and bath. The ceilings are just over 7 feet tall. Normal fans would be to low to be safe. The Low Profile III was the answer. It only extends down about 8 inches. Plenty of room without causing a safty problem. I highly recomend it if you have ceiling that give you limited clearence.
Yes, I recommend this product.
