I waited years for this gem!,
September 13, 2009
"I also read every review including Consumers. This is the one for me. What I don't understand are the comments about the wood top and no handles. Wouldn't you just glue a cutting board on top (I did) and I put handles too.
This is quite a purchase for an old hippie mama, sorry I waited so long. After reading everything I am second guessing an extended warrenty and going with none.
If you are really concered with this purchase I suggest you read the blogs at Consumers website, there are hundreds and they are free to read.
With the time I save not having to rinse or wash I am starting a walking program! Join me and never wash dishes again by hand, let's go for a walk instead!"

Shoddy quality, broke immediately,
August 25, 2009
"We just had this dishwasher delivered the other day. The delivery men refused to install it. I tried to attach the faucet connector, and a washer inside immediately cracked. The washer was a very stiff rubber, as if it had been sitting for years or was otherwise damaged. Another internal washer fell into the connector and can't be removed without pliers. The connecting pipes are inside the machine and can't easily be removed to replace.
The front-bottom fender also came cracked, and the machine is much too big to be converted to a built-in. Would not recommend."

They don't make 'em like they used to,
July 3, 2009
"I chose this dishwasher because I had a Maytag portable that I bought in 1996 and LOVED. This is not the same machine. It used to have a 1 1/2" hardwood block top, handles to roll, LOTS of interior space, etc. I should not have gotten rid of that to buy this. The new one has a laminate top, no handle, diminished space AND takes longer to run. I think the '96 was made by Maytag, and this was made by Whirlpool. Might be better than other portables--I wouldn't know, but definitely not as good as older Maytags."

Maytag Portable Dishwasher,
January 20, 2009
"I just received my portable dishwasher. After not having one for 12 years in my home I was tired of washing dishes by hand and finally broke down to buy one.
This product is EXCELLENT. I have used it twice so far. Not one leak, quiet and does a wonderful job on all my dishes. They have not sparkled this much in the last 12 years.
WOW, I should have done this years ago.
Way to go Maytag."

LOVE IT!!,
July 21, 2008
"I live in a very small apartment with very little counter and sink space. I am sick of being the manual dishwasher so I looked into this portable dishwasher and love it! I researched the item a lot before purchasing and even found out my mom had one about 30 years ago (of course the ugly puke yellow color than) and she loved her's! The best part is that it's easy to move around and hook up, also love that it can convert to an under the counter dishwasher when needed!!! Highly recommend this and also the other reviews are correct do not buy the additional hook up items that they try to add to your order they are not needed...everything comes in the box!!!"

Works great!,
May 3, 2008
"After two years of handwashing dishes in our rental home we decided to buy this portable dishwasher. It was ready to go right out of the box and all the hoses and cords were already installed. I had let my dishes sit for two days and loaded them unrinsed directly into the washer. Everything came out sparkling clean, even a baking dish with two day old baked on pasta sauce. It was amazing! I do not think it is loud and I've had no trouble with leaks or water not draining. I love this dishwasher! Just do not buy the installation kit and power cord that automaticly get put in your cart, everything you need is included."

Great machine for a great price,
July 14, 2007
"I recently bought a house that, to my disappointment, didn't have a dishwasher. After browsing around at the portable models (my kitchen isn't small, but cabinet space is limited and i didn't feel i could sacrifice any), i decided on this Maytag. It wasn't the cheapest or the most expensive model, it looked like it had good features and the reviews were mostly positive.
I ordered it online on a Thursday, and stopped washing my dishes in anticipation of its arrival. I didn't rinse or prewash anything, and i only scraped off the large scraps of food. It arrived the following Thursday and i immediately loaded it with my yucky week's worth of crusty dishes. Before i went to bed, I selected the normal cycle, and let it go. What a great machine! The only thing that didn't come clean was a slotted spatula with egg dried into the slot (a small thing to wash off). Everything rinsed clean, with no food dust redeposited on the glasses. It's quiet enough it doesn't wake me up at night (i use the delayed wash feature to save money on water), but because i run it overnight, i can't comment on the length of the cycles.
A few of the people who wrote reviews complained of water coming out of the bottom and water standing in the bottom of the machine. These reviews gave me some reservations about ordering this machine, but i haven't experienced any of these issues. Just based on my first initial test of this dishwasher, i'd recommend it to anyone. My subsequent washings have all been great, and i've owned it for about three weeks now.
My only negative comments are that the water hoses are a little shorter than i'd like them to be, and i wish it had a handle or something to steer/move it around a bit easier. Otherwise, i couldn't be happier with my selection."

Excellent performance, poor instructions,
June 26, 2007
"As a portable, this is the ultimate dishwasher! I could not have been more pleased. Performance wise, it is excellent. However, now as we try to convert it to a built-in, as this was the main reason for purchasing such a dishwasher, we are running into problems every time we turn around. There are no instructions to convert it (but there ARE instructions on how to hook the portable up to your sink...hmm), so we are doing this blind. Then, as we have the plumber hook up the lines, he informed us that we need special adapters to connect the hoses. These adapters did not come with it (despite the fact it's advertised as a convertible) and we are having trouble locating them in our small town."

A great investment!,
March 16, 2007
"This dishwasher has everything I could need to make my days easier! With three children I found it exhausting to stand at the sink and wash dishes all day. After purchasing this dishwasher it's so simple to load everything and forget about it until we are ready to do a full wash. With this specific dishwasher I can even do a quick 9 minute rinse if I think the dishes will sit longer than expected! No more cracked and chapped hands for me! The dishes come out very clean and the glasses come out sparkling. Even the kids like helping unload, so we've all won out with this one! The only thing I wish it had was a handle to help pull it across the kitchen, but otherwise I am completely satisfied!"
