Loud and poor lighting

Who would have thought a Maytag brand would be so annoying to have. The unit works fine, except the fan is deafening (either as a fan for the stove, or when you activate the microwave--go figure, shouldn't need it for the microwave at the same volume). And the light at the back is just plain stupid. Had there been a demo available, I would never have purchased it because of the fan...and I guess I didn't look closely enough at the light so that one is my own fault.
Would never recommend it to anyone. Total bust.

I have waited several months to write my review so I had a true understanding of it. I think it's great and would recommend it to anyone. It does sound like the fan is on high when it's running, but it's not so loud that it's annoying. It also counts down the time you enter and then stays on for another 4 seconds before the finished bell rings but that doesn't seem to throw off any cooking times.
Lighting is good. Filter is good for odors. Turntable and buttons all work great. I also love the add 30 seconds button - it's a great help. What a great value!

I have had my mic for 3 years now and i love it. I am looking for another to replace the one I currently have only because my daughter nearly burned the kitchen down and the door of the microwave was badly damaged. Even with the damage, shockingly, the microwave works just fine. I am only buying another for cosmetics. I feel its a great product for a great price!

I bought a different as a replacement when mine broke, but it arrived damaged and I was in such dire need that I got this one, which was in stock at the store.
It is so loud when it is cooking that you can barely even hear anything else...the sound is like the fan on HIGH.
The buttons are not very sensitive, so you have to push them very precisely and hard to get them to work. They are also pretty general and low tech. I spend twice the time punching in, and re-punching buttons on this one than my old one.
You can not cook and use the kitchen timer on it at the same time. (What?!!!)
The light is at the rear of the unit, so it lights up the back of your stove, not what is cooking.
The template for install is a bit off and the directons are vague as far as where to place it.
I really hate this microwave and would suggest to anyone to spend the extra $$$ and get a better one. This one cooks OK but we have only had it for 2 weeks. The white looks pretty cheap, too.

I purchased this microwave about two years ago. I love it. It is easy to use. Heats food evenly. Defrost actually defrosts insead of cooking my food. The kids can use it. Has lots of little things you can use, like the popcorn button and it doesn' t burn your popcorn.
This is my first purchase of a maytag product. I would spend the money on it again!! I love it!

Installation went ok. Oven seemed to work initially on small items. But we soon discovered that with longer cooking times the fan did not automatically turn on which caused the oven to turn off before cooking time ended. Also light is mounted in the rear instead of the front. We returned this oven and will purchase a different model.

Installation a breeze until finishing, the mounting screws that hold from the top did not fit. Thread type or fouled thread, but needed different cabinet nuts. After unit was installed it worked but was extremely loud.
After 5 days installed, the timer failed. The minutes counted off like seconds and the unit was not warming.
The single star rating is for the fact that it failed soon enough to get a suitable replacement.

Product do not have a good seal around the door. There is condensation that forms after every use.
