We were so thrilled to get this Maytag refrigerator. We have always had freezer top fridges and as I am getting older, it has been more difficult to reach into the bottom back shelves. With this new bottom freezer with the pull out drawer, it is just great. Everything is within easy reach in the refrigerator portion as well as very reachable in the pull out freezer.

Good But Not Perfect

Jumping to the biggest problem, the thing seals so strongly that it is difficult to open the door. When the door is opened it always rattles items on the door shelves. The freezer door is easier but it still takes extra effort which brings me to issue two. According to my wife when the bottom drawer is loaded the added weight raises the effort to open the freezer, I have found this to be less of an issue. As to the good it is very energy efficient, relatively quiet and most everything in the refrigerator is readily accessible except for the top shelf for the vertically challenged. Too many negatives with side by sides, I decided to give a bottom freezer a try although I like this one I'd probably go back to a top freezer for the added efficiency.

Ok I’ve had my Maytag bottom freezer fridge now for about two months and I love it! I knew I would though. My only wish is I could have fit a bigger one through the door, wanted a 25cf but had to settle for a 21.9cf. I really like everything up where I can see it, no having to stand on my head to find stuff on the bottom shelf. Did take a little bit getting used to the ice being below. I also have to say it makes plenty of ice for this 3 person family. I also arranged the door shelves to where I can put 4 one gallon jugs of milk or juice there at one time. (hurray) I cant say enough about this fridge. I did quite a bit of researching brand names and their products and im glad I chose a Maytag. I’m VERY please with my purchase.

BEST VALUE FOR A BOTTOM FREEZER FRIDGE! I couldn't wait for our top freezer fridge that came with our house to go so we could replace it with a bottom freezer fridge. I did a lot of research during this time and we decided on this Maytag model. We did not want a water dispenser but we did want a factory installed automatic icemaker which this model has. This fridge is THE BEST and we could not be more pleased. Not having to bend down every time we need to retrieve something from the fridge is a blessing day in and day out. Yes the freezer is now on the bottom but it is a very convenient pull out drawer that has 2 baskets in it. My freezer has never been so organized. This model is very quiet and we have had no service issues. Not only did Home Depot have the best price, we also purchased a Maytag range from Home Depot and qualified for the Maytag rebate through Home Depot as well as an energy efficient rebate from our utility company so the price for this fridge could not be beat. And Home Depot's delivery team was friendly, on time and worked quickly and efficiently. They even took away the old appliances and packing materials at no cost to us. I wish everything in life could go so smoothly. We got this model in white and it looks great in our cottage style kitchen. Thank you Home Depot!

I am overall very happy with the bottom drawer fridge style. The Maytag product itself is very nice. I am however, a little disappointed in the room in the freezer. I do wish that I purchased a larger model.

I'm a single mom - buying a refrigerator was no small endeavor. I did my research, I scouted, I shopped, I compared and I prayed...and given my specifications, this appeared to be the best refrigerator for the best price...to my absolute elation, I'm thrilled to tell you that it IS the BEST refrigerator for the best price! ;)
I had a side-by-side before and couldn't fit "anything!" in it - forget a party platter or pizza box; but this roomy appliance has me thinking (every time I open it) "I LOVE this fridge!"
I love, love, love the bottom freezer, plenty of room in there and the ice maker is efficient and easy to access.
It has all the bells and whistles and is very energy efficient. The only thing you may miss is the in-door water (I don't, I use a Brita pitcher) - I actually like not having the external controls/gadgets; it makes for cleaner lines, less mess and less area to keep clean...a plus in my book!
I hear only stories of aggravation from all my gal pals regarding "French" (two) doors - "who has that many hands free?!" and "who can remember which side something is on, I always have to open both, so what's the point?!" This refrigerator, with it's single door is easy to use whether I'm holding a toddler on my hip or a phone to my ear - if I could give it 10 stars, I would!

We've had this fridge for a year now with no problems at all.
Pros of this fridge:
+ Fridge on top. This just makes more sense for us as we are both tall, and open the fridge much more than the freezer. You can actually see all of the fridge contents when it's on eye-level (rather than searching or forgetting stuff is there.)
+ White. Easy to clean - unlike stainless, no fingerprints or smudges from the little guys.
+Space: tons of storage space, rearrangeable door baskets and shelves are very handy
Cons:
- Freezer drawer: every time you open the freezer, you pull out over 1/2 of your food, exposing to room temperature air. Maybe it's my imagination, but I have more freezer burned food now than I remember in the past.
- Ice: awkward to reach, although would rather this than ice cube trays.
- Ice: ice maker is SLOOOOOOW. Ok for everyday, but don't count on it for a party.
- No filtered water dispenser.
If I were doing this over, I would buy this exact fridge but with a door freezer rather than drawer (if that exists!)

i did alot of looking around at other stores and other brands of bottom mounts. this maytag is real nice. quiet running,lots of room, i love that everything is right there. the frezzer holds alot of food. i love the pull out frezzer. if your looking for a great fridge top of the line go with this one. oh and the guys at home depot were great orderd on a saturday was at my home on tuesday from warehouse at maytag thanks again homedepot 10 stars

I researched for weeks looking for a refrigerator and I kept coming back to this one.It had everything I was looking for.Alot of other brands seemed to not be made as sturdy and so I ordered it and I'm so glad I did. I've really been happy with it.
