First Maytag Microwave

I have had my microwave a little less than one month and I like it very well. My previous one did not have a turntable. I find that the food is evenly warm or hot. It is easy to operate and closing the door does not move the microwave on the countertop.
It looks to be a tiny bit off level, being slightly lower on the right side, but this is not a problem, because it is so slight. The Maytag is about 300 more watts than my previous one and it makes a big difference in how quickly it heats. All in all, I am pleased and the final opinion will be formed when it gets to the age of my previous microwave (7 years old).

No, I do not recommend this product.
The first microwave of this model(UMC5200BAS) was purchased and installed new into my home. It stopped working after 14 months. I bought another of this microwave (exact same model) because it would still fit and match the trim kit I have in my kitchen. The 2nd microwave failed to heat after 16 months. It seems these models stop working just after the maufactures' warranty(12 months) ends... go figure. As the old saying goes "fool me twice... shame on me". I will not be buying a third microwave from Maytag / Whirlpool.

After we had a house fire and needed to rebuy our appliances, I noticed that no one hardly ever leaves good reviews--which makes it hard when shopping around. So I am starting now to say what products I had that are good and this microwave was great. I had it for 4 1/2 years and never one problem. Besides myself and husband using it, my 3 young kids used it also. But unfortunately, we are going with a microwave/oven combo this time around.

No, I do not recommend this product.
As a few other people mentioned in their review, our microwave also came with our new house and was new. It stopped working (does not power up at all) at approx the 25 month mark. The cost for the repair service call alone was surprising. It was high, better than what I was initially told though, but did not include parts which I found out could run approx half the cost of a new appliance.
When working, the microwave itself was/is nice. And though it is advertised as a countertop, ours has a trim kit and is mounted in our cabinets. I gave low marks for the value because I feel that a product that costs this much should last MANY years more than this one apparently tends to last, so....what to do, what to do? I think I will give it one more try (repair), but will be back to write another review if this fails again sooner than I feel it should.

Purchased to replace unit that came with house. After all the work to install with trim kit like before, door release button doesn't work right. Now I get to take it back out and go through the hassle of waiting on a new delivery.
Wouldnt be so bad if they carried it in stock in store.

No, I do not recommend this product.
I got this microwave installed into my new house and it quit heating things up after 15 months. I am deciding on if I want to fix it for $150 and take the chance of this happening again or if I should just buy a new one with better reviews.
