This product is not worth a penny. I’ve been through 4 radio’s in the past year and a half. The volume knob on ALL 4 radio’s would stop working after a few months.

First, for years this radio ran through the battery superfast, and after many recharges, the battery wouldn't hold a charge for long and had to be replaced (for around $30). Second, in recent months, the volume switch started going, so that you had to touch it just right to hear anything--like it was loose inside and miconnecting or something. Now it works so rarely I need to get a new one. It was nice while it worked but I'd recommend finding a better one.

This is a radio, correct? Who ever heard of a radio that doesn't have an AM band. It's FM only which is quite limiting. This is the first time I've ever been disappointed in a Ryobi product.

This is a great radio, use it all the time. Handy and produces good sound and will play my CD's also, through the adapter cord that comes with the radio. As a further recommendation, I gave my first one purchased to a friend of mine, who is a painter. It got knocked into a 5 gallon pail of white paint, it stills works, but now it is white. Great product.
Yes, I recommend this product.

If you have more ONE+ battery packs than you need to work so it is worth to have this radio. It has a supprising good sound for the speaker and works great wit MP3-players like the Ryobi TEK4 AllPlay which I use with the radio.
If you need to buy an additional battery pack to operate the radio then it becomes too expensive and you should consider a different solution.
It is not a "must have" but a nice toy if you have a battery pack left for it.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Love it. Its small. Its Loud. MPS cable hooks up to my blackberry (which no one has mentioned so far) and when on speaker phone I can really broadcast a phone call, or music or online video. great for outdoor garden parties etc. as well where power and convienance are compromised. One person mentioned it has no handle... it does, it is molded into frame of body, Antennae is rubber so it won't bend or break.
Yes, I recommend this product.

This RYOBI Radio is amazing, I can take anywhere with me and lasts for hours. What makes this product amazing is that I can hear fm radio or plug a cable that can connect to my ipod and I am ready to hear my own music. This radio is really the best when I am camping, at the park, anywhere outdoors or indoors.
Yes, I recommend this product.

This radio suits all my needs. Since I already own several ryobi tools, this radio completes my collection. It will play on normal Ryobi One+ Ni-cad batteries for over 12 hours, and gets 15-18 hours out of the Li- Ion batteries. FM reception is excellent, and Aux port is invaluable. I also love it because it is small and portable, perfect for surviving boring interior re-paints, but has enough power to hear it when up on a 32' ladder. I bring this radio camping, to the beach, tailgating, whatever, and people are always impressed by it.
If you don't own any ryobi tools or batteries this radio probably isn't worth the investment. But if you already own the batteries and chargers, there is no excuse for not buying this radio.
Yes, I recommend this product.

After buying the Ryobi caulking gun, 2 batteries, and a charger, I thought that buying their 18v flashlight would be a good idea in case of a power outage and to get some other use out of the batteries.
When I saw the price of the radio I thought that I would buy that as well, also in case of a power outage. I now use the radio quite a bit. A.M. reception would be nice, but I honestly can't say that I would listen to it. The MP3 input is nice. I think the sound is very good, despite what others have said. A carrying handle would be nice or a strap (though there is a spot on the back where strap could be attached.)
Next time bad weather is threatening I'll be charging up my batteries, just in case.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Bought the radio to listen to while working for under $30 it is worth it. Very loud and compact, its great. Its small enough to put in your bag and does the job that a boom box does. The mp3 makes life easy and it comes with the cord, so its mp3 ready... If you are looking for a great inexpensive radio that you can hear over loud tools and people go with this Radio... Perfection is hard but Ryobi did it again.
Yes, I recommend this product.

The most important tool on a jobsite, the radio. But instead of paying $150-$250 this one wll get the job don for under $30. Works best indoors, but still usabable framing up a deck or walls. My radio doesnt work any more but the aux input works great for my mp3 player. Rough job conditions; Rain, mud, and snow probably did the radio part in, went through 3 mp3 players. For the size and Most people already have the 18v I would reccomend this durable and affordable radio

Perfect for the jobsite, plays for days on one 18v battery. Mine has been wet, and knocked off a 6 foot high block wall. But it still performs flawlessly every day. The inexpensive price is a bonus for a product so well built!

To be sure, Ryobi's combo-boxing of this radio with other One+ tools is a great incentive to pick one up. At the same time, its performance leaves a lot to be desired. While I didn't expect it to have the sound quality of, say, Logitech's portable iPod speakers, the Ryobi has the acoustic responsiveness of your average clock-radio: with practically no low-end bass, the unit is all treble and midrange. (Also, obviously, it's mono, though this isn't big deal to my mind a, as stereo's usually not important to most folks on a site.)
As many other reviews have mentioned, there's no AM radio reception, which is a shame for talk-radio fans. Ryobi ought re-engineer the unit so that the source switch supports both FM and AM stations, with the AUX input jack being the "third mode" that shuts off the radio when plugged in. Also, as this is a great unit for taking along on camping trips, it'd be wise for Ryobi to waterproof the casing somewhat to address the occasional spill.
On the up-side, the battery lasts for days and the digital tuner is great. And did I mention it's loud? At just half volume it's easily heard across a decent-sized garage. At full blast it's perfect for a day at the beach.
All in all, it's a great occasional radio to have received as a gift, but there's plenty of room for improvement still for Ryobi to work on.
Yes, I recommend this product.

This is a really great product, for anyone who likes to take their music with them. I love mine and use it whenever I'm outside. It's so nice not to have to keep buying batteries like I did as a kid with boom box. One charge with the Ryobi One battery lasts a long time.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Yes, it really works. Powerful, clear and good reception. We bought one for a friend at Christmas and heard it at her house. Could not the believe the music came from that little radio, so I had to order one myself! Got the lithium battery to make sure it could go camping with us.

Excellent radio reception. The aux plug is great for an mp3 player or xm/sirius hookup. Surprisingly loud for a little radio.
